It also proves Obama's insincerity about wanting to conserve energy and improve the environment. A gas tax incents lowering gas consumption. A mileage tax is indifferent to fuel consumption. What Obama wants is power, not even a warped libtard view of the general welfare.
So, if you are "10 over" for more than about 30 seconds you can look for a Federal Speeding Ticket from the IRS or some other such untouchable federal craphole.

The left has been proposing this in Washington State for years and just couldn’t get passed the voter objections. So, instead they decided to require insurance companies to charge customers by the mile they drive, by having the customers install the GPS trackers in their own cars. That didn’t get very far either, All it accomplished was a change in the occasional use policies that allow customers to simply pay for the days that they use a vehicle.

I remember back in the early 70’s we’d here about some bone-headed law someone wanted to pass and folks would tell me “People will never stand for that!” I told them that is not true, but can be modified to be true as follows: THIS GENERATION will never stand for that.
Does anybody here think that our founding fathers would stand for most of the laws “this generation” stands for? Problem is, as us boomers get older, we are not going away like previous generations. We live too long. I honestly think they would like us to just die off so they could get to the business of making this a “complete” nanny state.

Sounds like we’re becoming “European.” We watch the British version of Top Gear, and were listening to a rerun the other day from 2007. It was one of their awards show. I got a kick out of what the British think of their “taxes” having to do with cars and transportation. Elite politicians absolutely HATE our freedom and nothing supports freedom as much as the ability to move around/travel as you please. This is why they focus so much on pushing anything that curtails travel. They want us pinned down and controlled, and they want us to pay, to them, a heavy price for moving around. They are for anything that makes us less free. This is evil, very evil.
Our so called public servants do NOT believe they are our servants at all. They believe they are our masters. I don’t know what they could do or say that would make this any more clear other than a frank confession, “We hate you scum and want to be Lords over you. When we say jump you say how high.”
They can’t figure out who’s coming in to our nation illegally, but they can track how far average citizens drive every day?
