For his sake, I really hope he is being an ass and putting us on. If he really is out there in black face paint with a video camera, and one of these police patrols he mentioned passes, it could get real ugly real quick.

I’m quite hesitant about the wisdom of that as well.
I understand your thinking and intentions.
However, in a complex hazardous context with plenty of unknown folks in terms of allegiances, goals and motivations, that just doesn’t seem to be exceedingly wise.
If you had a 2nd floor window . . . thick drapes, darkened etc. to film in a slit between . . . would be wiser, I’d think.
