We also are paying for the wars - do you want to see dead and maimed American soldiers since we paid for it? I pay for beef at the grocery store but I don’t want to see the cow being killed.

Then, you have the freedom not to view the pics. I resent this administration deciding for me what I'm able to handle, which is what they're insinuating with their asinine statements about how gory they are.

But, you needn't concern yourself. Based on the statements coming from the WH, nothing is forthcoming.

In cases of Americans killed, we return them home to their families for a proper burial. And we do have a right to pay our respects at that time if we choose.

In this case, the American people are being kept in the dark. I don't suggest that there's any real cover-up or anything. But I believe that the left is trying to reconcile the congratulations they are receiving for successfully completing this mission, while trying not to reveal the reality of what this mission required.

They wanted to show the coffins of the fallen soldiers because they thought it would be a political advantage against the GOP. Now they fear the release of the bin Laden photo will take the veil of the good feelings they are receiving from their supporters.

The bottom line is we have a right to know what our military is doing, as long as it doesn't endanger ongoing operations. The only reason the Obama administration is hesitant to release the photo is that in their core, they are ashamed of what our military does, and while they can control the narrative through words, the pictures reveal a harsher truth. War is ugly. They didn't mind reminding us, though, when Bush was president.
