There were a rash of editorials lamenting the “speech” and pointing out his classless self-praise....I think the White House got the message becuase it is reported that he invited Bush to the ground zero show....Bush, having class, declined.

Not what I said.

I said: “3) They are reporting what they have been told by the SEALS. (Interesting you would call the SEALs liars.)”

The question was why the conflicting initial reports.

I answered with the most plausible reasons, too include what the SEALS reported.

WH press conferences and news reports were not done until after verification by DNA, among other means (visual ID by on-site SEALS, wife's ID, facial matching technology, etc).

So, SEALS made the ID and were right. They were 100% accurate.

It's at least as likely that Bush has seen what happens to others who Bambi has invited to watch him speak, such as what happened with Paul Ryan not too long back.

Not wanting to be lectured to and mocked while "the one" controls the microphone and media access is smart. Not wanting to help glorify the poseur who has spent almost four years tearing down and vilifying everything that W put in motion is a very wise decision.

My feeling is that Bush has been schooled that former presidents fade into the background and do not attempt to critiize or steal the limelight....Bush just isn’t a Carter or Clinton who just won’t shut up and go away.

I agree, but I also think he's watched the modus operandi of the current occupant and knows his presence would be used to bash the horrible policies of the prior administration.

There is no doubt that Bambi would get in digs, and I think he finds that more distasteful than anything else, as he himself would never have done that.

I think he would gladly share a podium with someone who truly wanted to honor what his predecessor did.

Agreed...he is like a child...he just can’t stop himself from digging at Bush in an attempt to build himself up.

But it didn't. Woulda, coulda shoulda... You can pretend it did, cry and whine about it, mock others, or throw yourself a party.. But in the end, you'll have to deal with the fact it didn't occur during his watch.

Fair enough.

If you want to give Ubama a gold star because he successfully wiped his own butt for once, be my guest.

The positive ID was made by DNA comparison to his sister's brain tissue, and it was not done by SEALs in the field....it was done after the body was removed from Pakistan by experts in Afghanistan.

I'm not calling SEALs “liars,” you asshole.

It’s rare this WH gets the message on anything, MB; their internal polling must be going to hell in a bucket.

Ls, you saved me from having to write my theory. Bush is a sharp guy, and he has seen what Obama’s special invitations to conservatives amount to: a chance for this classless, childish narcissist to insult his guest up close and personal. I hope more conservatives catch on, and stop giving this spoiled case of classic arrested development—i.e.: Obama—his lowlife jollies.

Chill. This is essentially a political website, and so most people here understand that Ubama’s primary concern when he “authorized” the mission was not “a safer America”, not the war on terror, and not anything other than the political impact of the mission’s success or failure. That pack of scumbags over at the White House must have really high-fived each other after bin Laden got killed. “Wheee! We be re-elected for sure, now!” That’s all it meant to them.

The posters here naturally see the prospect of an Ubama re-election as an imminent danger to the nation - - a much greater danger than Osama bin Laden ever posed. The reactions here to seeing the skunk Ubama attempt to steal the credit for the risks taken by the same US military that he and his party have relentlessly tried to eviscerate for decades makes normal Americans throw up in their mouths a little.

Ubama “authorized” the mission... Wow. What an American hero.

The only good news was George Bush telling Ubama to go play in the street when Ubama asked him for help with his planned New York City photo op.

So relax. The way I see it, people here reacted normally for the most part.

FRegards,
LH

When you can’t believe a word out of this administration it is hard to suspend disbelief. I mean an instant DNA test, no pictures, and a quick sea jettison? These people are control freaks.

Obama is a country and culture wrecking nightmare without honor. Yes, I want the pictures, biological evidence and the opportunity for independent individuals to review it all. When a positive outcome is proclaimed and I accept the credentials and veracity of the participants, I'll celebrate. I'm responsible for my own decisions. Anybody else want to jump off a bridge it's fine with me.

“I have no doubt that Osama is history.”

That’s the point. None of us should have doubts about that fact, and raising doubts is not a reasonable thing.

Leave aside the many side-issues that have or may crop up. Leave aside the stupidity of the Obama admin not releasing photos to prove to the Araba world, full of conspiracy theories and doubters. Actually treating the ‘he might not be dead’ as a reasonable possibility is discreditable conspiracy-mongering.

““birther mentality” is a pejorative”
ok, maybe we should say “Dont get all Alex Jones on me” - we are talking about a conspiracy-theory-minded attitude.
And at this point, that’s what birthers have become. The reasonable doubts have been removed on that issue and only unreasoning conspiracy-mongering is left.

” ... which seems to most of the media and the left to include anyone who has ANY question about Obama’s eligibility. Use of the phrase by someone who holds himself out to be a conservative,”

Being a birther and being a conservative have nothing to do with one another. There are non-conservative birthers and non-birther conservatives. Pretending their the same is wrong.

“And PS, Obama is eligible. That’s a dead end.”

“Wow! I was wondering who had the last word on the definition of natural born Citizen. Now I know. Thanks!”

Yes, its definitive, its a dead end and the dead horse should stop being flogged. That’s the point. We should stop treating irrational conspiracy theories with the respect they dont deserve.

Thank you, I prefer reading transcripts and summaries to listening since I can’t get his radio show (or much of anything) out here in the boondocks.
