The Pak military academy was less than one click down the road. There was a hospital about 1 click in the other direction.
He was set up pretty well, overall. He no doubt had lots of eyes and ears of the Pak military and ISI telling cut-outs about any threats - of which there were basically none. He was so deep in Pakistan that our cross-border missions weren’t going to come anywhere close to his home.
And there’s this aspect: The more mouths to feed, the more mouths to blab. The news stories say that our guys found him by tracking the two couriers that OBL trusted. It seems as tho his inner circle shrank to a very small group of people - probably both for security, as well as a result of our pursuit of him over the years.
I am wondering if say (picking a figure out of the air) there was six bodyguards on duty, how much the reward would be worth split six ways.
Especially if they were told the SEALs were on the way and the alternative was a dirt nap.
