ASHINGTON (AP) A large crowd has gathered in front of the White House to celebrate the death of Osama Bin Laden.
Chants of "U-S-A, U-S-A" are breaking out periodically, and people are waving U.S. flags and taking photos. They're also singing the national anthem.
Will Ditto, a legislative aide, says he was getting ready to go to bed when his mom called him with the news. He decided to leave his home on Capitol Hill and join the crowd, and as he rode the Metro subway system to the White House, he told fellow passengers the news.
Ditto calls the news of Bin Laden's death "huge" and says "it's a great day to be an American."
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says Americans have kept their promise after Sept. 11 to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.
[snip]
I say it is manufactured political rhetoric for the purpose of lifting the downtrodden spirits of Americans and for the re-election campaign that is in full swing to re-elect Obama.
Until I see PICTURES of BIN LADEN like we all have seen of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, I am NOT a believer!
In addition, Obama is way too sympathetic and supportive of the Muslim cause and he is not very supportive of the United States military.
PROVE IT, LET’S SEE THE PICTURES!!
Geraldo on Fox in front of the White House spoke live on camera to a Marine Afghan/Iraq vet and newly minted Navy corpsman (woman) and also spoke to a military wife/mom whose husband and son are both in Afghanistan now.
He’s one enemy, I say, “Next!”
Most excellent news. Bravo Zulu to whoever pulled the trigger. Good hunting.
This is being shown around the world. That’s a good thing.
Same here!
Tonight, I'm going to toast the United States Navy for bringing the bastard down.
If you thought you had enough of the “Yes We Can!” chants before, well you ain’t heard nuthin’ yet. Those chants will be relentless now.
Here comes ANOTHER 4 YEARS of Obama, ENJOY!!
Osama was killed a week ago. How does a “large crowd” suddenly show up near the White House on a Sunday night to coincide with the announcement ? Unless they were paid union thugs bussed in..
that just seems odd to me.
i can see Americans approving of such a thing. but gathering in a crowd to cheer & party? that’s just odd
i’m guessing it’s manufactured
“An enemy of our glorious Republic is dead and you call that disgusting.”
No, you troll, I called the exploitation on sacred ground “disgusting”.... We are currently propping up the Muslim Brotherhood with diplomacy status - they gave birth to Al Qaeda.... you figure it out.
This is good news, if true, but the demonstrations seem a little contrived.
What was it about the left manufacturing stuff to try to be more tea partyish?
Osama is trash. Until proven otherwise, he was killed 6 years ago, but if not, and he was killed last week, then great. I still don’t see partying in the streets over this.
It is a bit odd for us Americans.
Whoa...there is someone on ground zero who is wearing a shirt that says”I’m a Mulim” WTF!!!
GW Bush's rating was very high eight years ago today, he had to come from behind to win in 2004. G HW Bush's rating was very high 20 years ago today, he lost in 1992. This will give him a bump, as one would expect. I don't think it will have much of an impact in November 2012.
“They’re saying they’re proud to be Americans. What’s not to like? “
A lack of sincerity, mayhaps?
The naivety of Conservatives while they’re being mocked?
staged
Both of the Bush Presidents were Republicans who had to fight the media the entire way. G.W. beat em, barely, Bush Sr. wasn’t able to.
Obama will have the media on his side, running his campaign commercials for him. It isn’t the same.
