Or a wealthy businessman who has been traditionally linked to the democrats because of the nature of his business and the people you have to deal with, but saw the light and came to realize that the political bedfellows he greased the palms of for years were a bunch of lunatics bent on destroying his country and finally had enough. There is that possibility too. My gut feeling tells me he is too animated, and confident of his views for it to be some sort of shallow put-on.
