Donald Trump's Crazy Las Vegas Speech: The Best Quotes
(0) | TrackBacks (0)
Seemingly believing himself to be on a victory lap after President Barack Obama released the long-form version of his birth certificate, providing more proof that he was born in the United States, reality TV star Donald Trump delivered an expletive-laden speech to Republicans in Las Vegas.
"Listen, you m************"
It was more of a 30-minute Ron White routine than a political speech. Those in attendance ate it up. After again taking credit for Obamas release of his birth certificate, Trump called U.S. leadership weak, "incompetent, and "stupid," among other things.
On foreign policy, he said 99 percent of Egyptians want to break the peace treaty with Israel. The real figure is 54 percent, but who's counting?
Here are some other top quotes:
- Citing the recent Rasmussen poll putting him ahead among likely Republican candidates: And whos number one? Trump!
- On Saudi Arabia possibly cutting oil production: Can you believe it? Youre going to be paying 5 and 6 dollars a gallon pretty soon, and they wanna go in and raise the price of oil, because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and says, Listen, youre not going to raise that fucking price.'
- On Chinese President Hu Jintaos visit to the U.S.: When people are screwing you, you dont give em state dinners.
- On China, monetary policy and diplomacy: What we do is we sit down in my office for a couple of hours, we either make a deal where you stop manipulating your currency or not. If you make a deal, you can have a state dinner if you want. If you dont make a deal, you take McDonalds and you go home.
- On his chances in 2012: And, you know, theres a good chance that no matter happens, I wont win because one of these bloodsucking politicians whos been bullshitting people for years will end up getting elected.
- On giving military aid to foreign countries: Im interested in protecting none of them unless they pay us.
- On giving up his television career to run for president: Its a great show. Im gonna give a lot of stuff up. But you know what, its peanuts compared with the importance of this country.
- He also suggested imposing a 25 percent tax on goods from China, though almost no economist thinks protectionism is a good idea. Here's how he said he would negotiate the deal: You can have one man say [in a mouse-like voice], Were gonna tax you 25 percent,' and I can say [in his normal voice], Listen you motherfuckers, were gonna tax you 25 percent.' Youve said the same exact thing, but its a different message.
No kidding.

Yes I think Trump probably got carried away in the moment also. If he does stay in the race I doubt he will be talking like that on the campaign trail. If he did I too would would start to frown on it. It lowers the discouse in a political debate. It just frosts my cheese that those azzhats on MSNBC get all wee weed up about it. Like they are shining examples.

I agree with everything here...except for the 25% tariff which would just raise our costs on everything. I am fine with using it in negotiations , though.

Are you cool with the universal health care stuff too?
How about him saying of David Axelrod “whose a very nice guy by the way.”
Axelrod? Really? He’s the Karl Rove of the Obama Adminstration. Yeah, nice guy. The Donald must still have the need for political favors in Chicago.

Trump could take a lesson from Free Republic where obscenity laden tirades are neither wanted or tolerated. You've been on FR nearly as long as I have, I'm surprised you haven't noticed such things here.
If he wanted to win, he'd naturally have to tone it down but he may be an effective stalking horse for another Republican. Trump doesn't think like the political classes who always try to be as inoffensive as possible.
Trump is putting himself forward as a tough negotiator for America.
He understands what Obamacare costs, what China is doing, the threat of Iran, how we can't continue to be the world's 9-1-1 without renumeration, and the importance of a healthy manufacturing base.
While some of his themes are appealing, at this point I don't see myself gravitating to him for the nomination. I'd want to see how his candidacy matured into a more coherent vision. It's not a bad thing to hear ideas from outside the Beltway.
I wouldn't mind seeing a parallel universe with a "President Trump" though. It could be a very interesting tale.

The sale of U.S. technology and building of hi tech plants by U.S. companies in China will lead to the same result. The U.S. is currently selling its technological crown jewels to China for a pittance. Worth repeating.

I associate the F word with liberals. It is the oil that keeps their jaws flapping. It rolls off of their snide elitist tongues and dribbles greasily down their upthrust chins like toxic tobacco juice.
I am offended by it. Yes, I said it. I know it is not even politically correct for conservatives to admit they are offended by anything. But I can't help it. I am offended by foul language. No, I am not better than anyone else, and I know there are good people who swear occasionally, but that is how I was raised and I believe the air is cleaner without profanity.
I would never vote for a man who is so proud of his profanity that he makes it a part of his public speeches.

This whole thing is just a gigantic ego trip for Trump. He knows a lot of impressionable, easily excitable people will eat up phrases like telling off the Chinese and calling them names. Trump is a clown and snake-oil salesman. Anyone taking his bait is a fool.
