As a proud Citizen of a constitutional monarchy I beg to differ. Our countries have different checks and balances to keep citizens free; America has separation of powers in a written constitution while Britain and Canada evolved the “King in Parliament” check on power. Don’t forget that the original grievance of the Founders was not against monarchy per se, but one of their earliest rallying points was the desire to be afforded “the Rights of Englishmen”.

The Declaration of Independence was an indictment of a King, first and foremost.

It targeted his tyrannical personage more than elevated their human rights.

What kind of work for chocolate will you do and what’s your exchange rate?

I’m SO not into the whole “spring cleaning” thing this year but I have lots of chocolate.

:)
