Trump to China: “Listen, you motherf***ers, we’re going to tax you 25 percent”

Via Mediaite, which has excerpts from last night’s F-bomb cavalcade. One of our commenters in Headlines watched the clip and observed that Trump is basically a leftist caricature of Republicans brought to life. Precisely — but with the caveat that something like 20 percent of the GOP wants to embrace the caricature. (That number might already be slipping.) He knows he’s too compromised on conservative principles to get traction with the base so he overcompensates with tell-it-like-it-is populist bravado aimed at framing himself as the ultimate regular-guy outsider. Calling the Chinese MFers is the logical extension of that; if he can’t address economic anxieties with a serious policy solution, at least he can do it with rhetorical empowerment. That’s why Reagan, who did have a serious Cold War strategy, didn’t have to say “Tear down this motherf***ing wall” instead.

Just to follow up on the point about leftist caricature, though, I’m intrigued by this tidbit from his trip to New Hampshire:

bump!

It was more of a 30-minute Ron White routine than a political speech. Those in attendance ate it up. After again taking credit for Obama’s release of his birth certificate, Trump called U.S. leadership “weak,” “incompetent,” and “stupid,” among other things.

On foreign policy, he said 99 percent of Egyptians want to break the peace treaty with Israel. The real figure is 54 percent, but who’s counting?

Here are some other top quotes:

* Citing the recent Rasmussen poll putting him ahead among likely Republican candidates: “And who’s number one? Trump!”
* On Saudi Arabia possibly cutting oil production: “Can you believe it? You’re going to be paying 5 and 6 dollars a gallon pretty soon, and they wanna go in and raise the price of oil, because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and says, ‘Listen, you’re not going to raise that fucking price.’”
* On Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to the U.S.: “When people are screwing you, you don’t give ‘em state dinners.”
* On China, monetary policy and diplomacy: “What we do is we sit down in my office for a couple of hours, we either make a deal where you stop manipulating your currency or not. If you make a deal, you can have a state dinner if you want. If you don’t make a deal, you take McDonald’s and you go home.”
* On his chances in 2012: “And, you know, there’s a good chance that no matter happens, I won’t win because one of these bloodsucking politicians who’s been bullshitting people for years will end up getting elected.”
* On giving military aid to foreign countries: “I’m interested in protecting none of them unless they pay us.”
* On giving up his television career to run for president: “It’s a great show. I’m gonna give a lot of stuff up. But you know what, it’s peanuts compared with the importance of this country.”
* He also suggested imposing a 25 percent tax on goods from China, though almost no economist thinks protectionism is a good idea. Here’s how he said he would negotiate the deal: “You can have one man say [in a mouse-like voice], ‘We’re gonna tax you 25 percent,’ and I can say [in his normal voice], ‘Listen you motherfuckers, we’re gonna tax you 25 percent.’ You’ve said the same exact thing, but it’s a different message.”

No kidding.

It’s one thing to have protective tariffs so domestic unionized manufacturers can sell their stuff at inflated prices. But we have nothing to protect anymore. The only way any jobs come back is if it costs more to import.

The way it’s going, fuel costs will be all the tax we need to make it cheaper to produce at home.

On giving military aid to foreign countries: “I’m interested in protecting none of them unless they pay us.”

That alone should save us trillions...Use it to establish America into it's former super fortress state and gain the respect this country once had. Save health care? Cut off tens of millions of illegals that are choking off our hospitals, social services and health care. Throw their asses out!

Enough!

A self sufficient fortress state is an autarky. I was in favor of that 22 years ago. Of course no autarky is 100%. But 90% would be a good goal. We can easily be 90+ self sufficient and we have to stop illegal immigration and stop importing 3rd worlders with our one sided anti-European immigration policies.

If we get lucky Trump will be giving voice to a lot of politically incorrect resentments that hack politicians have kept suppressed. In fact he already is

I'm there. Regardless if it's Trump....No more career political insiders talking compromise, party over conservative principal. American now, first, and what benefits this country and the American people first is the priority. Nothing else matters. Charity begins at home. Ya secure your own homeland and state of affairs before *anything* else.

Those in D.C. have fully aided and abetted America's decline. No more of that cheet.

Otherwise, this country will continue to tumble down range, completely out of control. Those responsible head for the tall grass.

We live in a time when “good taste” is not going to get us anywhere. I’m sorry that’s true - I’d, too, like to live in a more civilized world. But we need to get out there and fight rough. The Tea Party fights rough (without the F bombs), Sarah and Michelle fight rough, and now comes The Donald.

Someone else said it brilliantly: John “Tammy Faye Baker” Boehner is just not going to cut it.

Folks can piss & moan about "un-civil" language all they want; but I'll you the facts...China/PRC/CCP is saying exactly the same thing about the U.S.A. right now.

In their opinion the U.S.A. is a paper tiger whose time has passed and is ripe for the plucking. They are amazed that it has been such an easy ride. Although they are u[pset about the drop in the US$ - Be prepared for their move to make the Yuan the currency of the world.

The Chinese/PRC/CCP are a bunch of hard-asses who have a mission to get everything they can for the Chinese. Manners be damned.

Civility and manners mean less than spit to this group. They respect strength and a hard line. Nothing else.

You have to remember - most of these people are only 1 generation away from poverty that made Appalachia look like a vacation spot. They remember that and will do whatever it takes to continue on their "Glorious March."

P.S.: I’m amazed at Freepers who do not believe that Trump forced BO’s hand in Birthergate. Trump’s hilarious and over-the-top calls for its release had the Prez and his Hawaiian flunkies in a frenzy of activity to find that damn thing.

LOL...pardon my uncouthness...lol. I thought about using the pinyin Chinese translation of the phrase (yes, they say exactly the same thing with the same meaning), but it lacks a certain ...oomph!..;)

The Trump ego machine is on full speed.
We dont need another immature person in charge. All those “Trumpettes” had better look at the person they embrace. He is only filling another void. He is a very successful business man, Reality show host and huckster. He need POTUS to complete another thing on his to do list. How better to feed the Ego than running for President and winning. If he wins, after his term he can tell people he was POTUS, like he was filling out his resume.
We deserve better.

Guess everybody was just blowing smoke.

From the article:

It's Trump who's blowing smoke; I hope everyone starts to realize it.

Thanks for laying out the ChiCom’s attitude towards the United States. I don’t like them but I didn’t think it was that bad. That was the ChiCom honchos.

Take a Chinese businessman who is selling a lot into the United States. What does he think about America? What does FoxConn think about Apple? They assemble the iPad while Apple makes the big profits. Do you think they are stealing Apple blind at this very moment on the technology so the Chinese can come out with an iPad clone?

I think he’s just ticked off that the media and Hollywood are calling him racist because he dared take on obama. Heck, even Imus called him a “pure racist” yesterday.

FoxComm is a Taiwanese company.
"Terry Gou founded Hon Hai Precision Industry Company Ltd, the anchor company of Foxconn Technology Group in 1974..." Gou is Taiwanese.
Hon Hai Precision Industry Company Ltd

http://www.foxconn.com/PullulateCourse.html

But its a major player in the Chinese economy because Gou took his manufacturing there. He basically sunk Taiwan by doing so. He is rich, very very rich, and in the last couple of years married a famous movie star. Its his 2nd or 3rd wife...he's not Mohammedan, its just something rich guys can do over here.

They, Gou and the others, just want to make money. Politics is a useful tool for them. Bend in the wind and keep taking it o the bank.

“Something has to change in this global market mess because the US is headed in a race to the lowest common demoninator of the globe and really, the third world does not thrill me much.”

You won’t need Trump to change things. China will take care of that. One day, not so long in the future (maybe this year), they’ll simply float their Yawn, and two things will happen. They will be, by far, the largest economy in the world, and we will be destitute. Thanks to Obama, the Fed, and particularly the long-range planning of the Democrats, this outcome WILL HAPPEN, simply because of our debt.
