Yes, I am particularly interested in this issue. So what? I also tend to post a fair bit on firearms issues. I post occasionally on more theological type topics. I’m also interested in science/technology/space and economic issues.

The reason that your statement is factually untrue is:

a) When I made the statement, it was an absolutely honest statement of my thoughts and feelings regarding some who have continued to post obvious discredited birther nonsense again and again.

The reason for that is that I believe that such nonsense makes us look like idiots and damages our conservative cause.

b) Secondly, when I made that comment, I was not referring to the FReeper that I addressed! I was referring to my earlier experience with certain other FReepers who shall remain nameless.

The one instance where an ad hominem attack is always acceptable is when you've got a drunk ~ or are a drunk. But if you are drunk you must make sure everybody else knows that ~ else, they could take you seriously.

Buckeye and Jeff-I have been feeling burdened by my post last night that caused Buckeye to be offended. It is not my intent to offend people, and I am sorry that I caused that feeling to happen.

With the announcement of the death of Bin Laden I have to admit for me it is like the last page of a chapter that needed to end. With that, I wanted to apologize to the above, and say that I am no longer worried about Obama.

I know...I know...that sounds crazy! Maybe I am crazy. But in the back of my mind, when so many things didn’t make sense from about 2008 til 2010, a tiny part of me started to wonder If maybe Obama was one of the good guys, posing as a Soros guy, or a muslim, or whatever, to, with the right pulling of strings, bring America back in line. You know, one of those “un—named stars” on the wall of heroes?

That would really be nice. And I’d really feel bad for downing him, if that were the case, because when all else is said and done, I am a Christian first, but then I am an American.

Romans 13 says that all Gov’t is from God and we should honor that. I re-read that passage before this post. I have lost sight of that, by focusing on this birth certificate.

I am letting go of the whole issue. Not saying that is what anyone else should do...only that is what I have to do, because it is making me feel out of line spiritually.

I trust God. Bottom line. He is in control. So no matter what Obama’s agenda is, ultimately it will be used for God according to His purposes. I trust that.

Thank y’all for putting up with my silly ideas about things, and for debating, etc. FR is a fun place, if you can keep it in perspective. But if you can’t, as I realize I have not been doing, you need to give yourself a shake...which is what I am doing to me!!!

Because we are all human, it is inevitable that you and I, sooner or later, are going to offend other people. This is all the more true if we try to engage in meaningful and serious give-and-take on important issues.

The layering is an artifact of the software being used to OPEN the document. You use different software you get another effect.

Why don't you try opening it in FrontPage ~ now that'll give you some effects.

This "layering" story is one of the issues that's been addressed time and time again by professionals in the field, including Freepers who've been in the business for ages.

What YOU need to do is come back to us with some explanation of why we should give a big rat's a~~ about it.

Forty years ago this document (or a fake one just like it with a different name) was being handled in a particular fashion (1) as it was created, (2) as it was turned into microfiche for the purpose of easily providing copies, (3) as it was stored between two binding covers held with one bolt.

What happened 20 years ago is different. What happened yesterday is still more different.

Hi Herbster! Thank you for posting to me. I am glad you are in defense mode for us all. Some are made for the front lines, some are made for the support lines, others the supply lines. Some just stay home and send letters of love and care packages. Doesn’t lessen their role.

The video you linked to is sad. It so chronicles the last three years. It has been a sick ride, and we are far from the end of it. I’m afraid I have had to take a moment to puke, in order to make it to the end.

My point was entirely -not so much who is Obama really- but this:

At this point, I have let go. I have fallen into God’s protective hands. I trust Him to use Obama to do His will. Obama is under God’s control.

American Christians have been very blessed to have been spared the torturous fate of so many Christians around the globe and throughout time who have suffered for His Name’s Sake. Dare I whine now? Dare I speak the complaint that this is not what I wanted for my children? Reading the book of Job answers that question.

Will I recognize the world around me when this ride is over? I don’t know. As I am sure the people who lived through the era of WWII wondered. And for many, certainly the world afterwards was something unrecognizable.

But I know one world I will never have trouble recognizing...that is the kingdom of God. It remains steadfast and unmovable. The rules don’t change, nor does the leadership!

So, keep fighting the good fight on your end, FRiend Herbster, and I’ll keep fighting the good fight on my end. We may not be in the same battles, but if our eyes are focused on God, our victory will be the same.
