Tea party favorite Sharron Angle says she is running as a Republican in Nevada's first-of-its-kind special election to replace U.S. Rep. Dean Heller.
Angle told supporters Friday she needs to raise $150,000 immediately to win the seat.
Heller is heading to the Senate . . .

The voter fraud came from the no GOTV by the Angle campaign.
Rove’s org spent millions of dollars advocating for Angle in Nevada. Sharron is a very good and decent person but has no business in politics.
Note to self: Whenever a staunchly conservative woman runs for office and doesn’t win, she will be quickly demonized in retrospect by many on FR as a disaster and a crazy person, and therefore must be thrown under the bus. And then many of these same “conservate” critics will conversely claim that our side could have won if we had instead put up a more moderate candidate.
Yup, through American Crossroads Rove poured a huge amount of money in to help her, but many people didn't want to hear it. They were convinced some of the poor nominees like Angle and O'Donnell lost because of Rove.
No, not moderate candidate, good candidate. People are advocating nominating the most conservative candidate that CAN win, not just the most ideologically pure candidate. Some people are right on all the issues and wonderful people, but just don't make for good candidates. Sad as it might be, it takes far more than being right on the issues to get elected. Human nature is what it is and very smart people that would great policy makers simply don't fare well in elections if they can't communicate their message effectively or come off badly in front of the cameras.

That’s the bottom line right there, she’s a Reagan conservative. So she may not be the ideal politician or personality, but it’s amazing how so-called conservatives are so quick to turn on their own if they aren’t the “perfect” candidate. You never see the left do that.
This is a special election for a congressional seat in an overwhelmingly GOP district. Unless there’s multiple GOP candidates, there’s no reason why she shouldn’t win this going away. I’d much rather have her in this seat than some ruling class RINO that talks smoother and has a better political pedigree.
I supported Angle in 2010, which turned out to be a mistake. She’s good on the issues, but she turned out to be Blunder Woman on the stump and got Harry Reid reelected against all odds. The last thing this country needs is for her to hand another race to the DemocRATS.
I liked her position on issues, but looking at her, I cringed a bit. She reminded me of this self-righteous lady in church. If I--who agreed with her positions--felt that way, I imagine how those in the middle/ moderate felt.
Angle lost by what, 10%? I’m sure that Reid and his minions conducted quite a bit of voter fraud, but that doesn’t come anywhere close to explaining such a huge loss.
Angle is just not a very good candidate. I supported her for Congress in 2006 (even donated to her campaign), and in hindsight I’m glad that she lost to Heller in the primary, since, if her 2010 campaign was any indication, she would have found a way to lose that seat.

The voting machines pre-programmed to select Reid when voting a straight Republican tickets do, coupled with the counting halt for one small polling station’s loss of power. Not to mention that Rory Reid’s Governor race lost by the same margin that Harry Reid was polling at. His son lost for Governor (by the same percent as Harry Reid was polling), but Harry managed to pull through by a wide margin. Any way you cut it is fishy. But again, I only know what I’ve read, and from many family members still in the state. I wasn’t there personally this election.

I understand. She lacked “charisma” as I believe they call good looks these days.
I’m sure that was a big part of it.
Nevada really hasn’t sent much in the way of talent to Washington since Paul Laxalt left.
And just who was the better candidate than Angle. Danny Tarkanian, who had already lost two high profile elections or Sue Lowden (the moderate) who suffered from her own foot-in-mouth disease?
Democrats have no compunction about electing gab prone, inarticulate leftists like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi,Ron Wyden and Barbara Mikulski. But Sharron Angle isn’t a suitable candidate to represent the small government argument?. I think we know who the real purists in the Republican Party are.
Here’s hoping that she makes it this time.
Sounds like the sort of candidate that would do better in race that isn’t statewide.
Sorry, I don’t need to provide evidence of Sharron Angle being a bad candidate; she proved that in spades all by her lonesome. Either Tarkanian or Lowden (both of whom are pro-life, pro-gun, pro-defense, pro-tax-cuts conservatives, BTW) would have whipped Reid.
Unfortunately, Angle is being knee-capped by her own party here in Nevada. Many in her own party ignore Reagan’s 11th commandment and publicly denounce her. She’s got a strong following but when you have republicans calling her “the worst candidate ever” in public (I heard this out of a republican assemblyman’s mouth last week at a public event), you know there’s trouble brewing. She’s more popular in Northern Nevada, but at the State level cronyism is alive and well - the state party wants someone else. She’s too much of a loose cannon for them - someone they can’t control.
If she runs, she’d better prepare for some serious back-stabbing. It totally pisses me off that they’re doing this to any republican candidate. The State party is the reason we have Harry Greid.
