I’ve had the same thoughts you expressed.
If the military is ordered to go in and shoot civilians, they will refuse. If they are ordered to go in and neutralize armed combatants, well that is something that they are trained to do and will do. Like I mentioned before, when I was in the service, we were locked and loaded waiting to move into LA. After seeing the violence we were all ready to go in and I never gave it a thought afterwards. In retrospect, maybe I should have.
We do learn every day. That hindsight stuff should be available to us before we have to make a decision. That would certainly help me!
