I’ve seen on a few of the wedding threads people saying things like, “We went to war to get out from UNDER the monarchy.” To each his own, however, the British have been some of our strongest allies, and if they revere their queen, then garsh-darn-it, so will I!
Does anyone remember this from a few years ago? Some British soldiers, based in Iraq, not whining, but having fun with it? “Do You Know the Way to Amarillo?” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI5y1cNpbYo
In solidarity with THESE Britons, Long Live the Queen! And best wishes to Wills and Kate.
Compared with US tax dollars financing (gag) butchers and dictators in the Mideast, who are now falling like dominoes-—— it’s not the worse thing in the world for the US to align with Britain, a civilized country that has assisted the US. Nor is it untoward to show respect for its monarch.
Where my sister lives the Lutheran service is so similar to the Anglican that one would hardly notice a difference.
I could sing along with two of the hymns (one written by Wesley) and follow the new dedicated anthem (because it was a direct quote of a Psalm). It was the hats that were the only obvious difference then the Methodist church down the street and this particular service. Yes there was a word or two different (spirit/ghost), but even the flow of the service was very familiar. OTOH There was no communion offered, even to the bride and groom. Wonder if this was their choice.
Appreciated the prayer that the two had composed together and how both sang along with hymns without need of looking at the words.....They’ve attended church regularly to be able to do that.
Since the newspaper mentioned reading lips, we did a little too...When they got into the carriage, Cate asked him if he was happy with the day. He answered Yes....couldn’t follow...and then asked her if she was also.
Still looking for a picture from Cinderella with PC in his red uniform. I think it’s the Disney version.
Smashing success! I remembered the sliced mushrooms and tomato too. Had the baked beans for lunch.
Prince awakens Sleeping Beauty
Funny, when I was a kid I saw some of those, and I didn’t get infected with crap. I did happen to see some of “Moulon” while on a train and it was larded with feminist man-hating as well as pro-fag propaganda.
Thanks for that video clip! I thought it was so cute how Harry said “wait til you see her.” I’m glad Will took a look. I had been thinking, what a shame to have this glorious image of the bride walking down the aisle, and for Will to miss it.
When they went to change for the evening, it’s reported they watched a replay on the “tele”.
So is Queen Victoria, the Empress of India.
The Doll.
Created by the Franklin Mint----doll features an EXACT replica of her Alexander McQueen wedding gown and the sparkling Scroll Tiara loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth. Even the doll's face looks authentic. The fabulously detailed miniature is $295----made for serious doll collectors.
Would also make sweet dolls.
Ooooh! I want one! :)
Me too.
How lovely! Speaking of Doll #2, I did hear on the Italian news that she and Harry flirted the night away leaving girlfriend Chelsea to go home early by herself.
A good match-—Pippa and Harry.
Chelsea was too hard-looking—not as sweet as Pippa.
Oops-—hope they don’t run into Somali pirates.
