CLEVELAND (AP) -- President Barack Obama says he strongly disapproves of new laws restricting public employee unions in Ohio and Wisconsin and says states should not use the financial crisis as an excuse to erode bargaining rights.
He tells Romona Robinson of Cleveland's WKYC-TV in a White House interview Tuesday public employees should not be blamed for a financial crisis they had nothing to do with and sacrifices should be shared in tough economic times.
Under Ohio's new law, 350,000 public workers can negotiate wages and certain work conditions but not health care, sick time or pension benefits. Opponents hope to ask voters to overturn the measure.

Then Obama should work to give Federal workers the same rights Wisconsin workers have AFTER the changes, since Federal workers still have fewer collective bargaining privileges than Wisconsin state workers.
... but I don’t want to give him any ideas.
And the Obamas. How many vacations, parties and rounds of golf can one president endure?
Obama is being blackmailed 24/7 by everyone who has his number.
Maybe he will support the bargaining rights of the tax payers these government employees work for.

Obama IS ‘these folks’.
Barry and his union thugs can “kiss it”.
What really sickens me is that about half of my high school classmates (class of ‘95) who are my friends on facebook have this stupid Anti-SB-5 icon for their profile picture.
I knew Akron was liberal, but even I had no idea how brainwashed by the unions my hometown is.
Trumka gave him his marching orders. The unions own him completely.
THe real question is, based on his past affiliations, who owns TRUMKA.
The only color in his country’s flag is RED.

Spot on TheZMan!
View these leftist union leaders as thieves in the night. They won't stop until the money stops.
A-Way To Go, Ohio.....
Your city is gone, Rockin.
Unfunded state and municipal employee pension mandates have EVERYTHING to do with the mess we're in.
If Obama doesn’t like it, it must be good for the country.
OF COURSE that scumbag disapproves.
One of the primary tactics used by the Democrats in their effort to turn America into a Euro-style socialist welfare state is to get everybody unionized and working, in one way or another, for the government. Ubama and the Democrats admire the way the entire nation of France, for example, can "go on strike" when the nation's primary employer, the French government, threatens tyrannical "sweatshop" measures such as increasing the "work week" from 35 to 38 hours, or increasing the retirement age from 52 to 55, etc.
The more parasites there are knocking each other over at the public trough, the better it is for the Democrats.
“Times are changing quickly as pension abuses such as spiking are revealed. . .”
We’re on to them. Finally. I say stay on them like a pit bull!
Obumbo we are talking about Government UNIONS not Private sector ones.Government workers have Civil service Protections ,they should NOT be allowed to unionize as Government workers PERIOD!
I don't blame them. Their pay and benefits simply aren't sustainble. Simple economic reality.
