This article, and others, seem to see this in the light of questions about the President’s own religious affiliation, i.e. he is a muslim. That, I believe, misses the real issue. The problem is not that he may be a muslim. I personally doubt he is. The problem is also not that he may even not really be a Christian. I personally doubt he is. The real problem, as I see it, is that, regardless of all else, he has severe antipathy to all things Christian. What difference does anything else make? Why he hates Christianity is beside the point. He does. Anyone who covers the name of the Lord so that he does not have to stand near it during a speech must hate all things associated with that Name. Anyone who edits out that same name when quoting a Christian sermon on a religious holiday must certainly despise that Name. This antipathy is what bothers me, not rumours about his secret muslim faith. The former is certain, and more important anyway, while the latter is only talk.
