Jerry Seinfeld, the comedian, has cancelled a charity appearance in protest at the property mogul Donald Trump's campaign questioning President Barack Obama's citizenship.
Seinfeld pulled out of a September event to raise money for the St Jude Children's Research Hospital, hosted by the tycoon's son Eric, because, his spokesman said, "Jerry has grown increasingly uncomfortable" with the way Mr Trump is casting doubt on Mr Obama's birthplace and " feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse".
The move by Seinfeld is the first sign of a celebrity backlash against Mr Trump's improbable but high-profile flirtation with the Republican presidential nomination.
Mr Trump hit back in characteristic fashion in a letter obtained by the "New York Post" that lambasted Seinfeld for pulling out of the Eric Trump Foundation event.

Trump (who doesn't even vote in primary elections, yet claims to be politically interested) is faking it, and sadly some very fine folks are buying his performance.

This is exactly the reason that DT must really have the goods on Lord Steve.
DT has spent his whole life around these people and he knew they would turn on him.
He knew that it would cost him financially as it would effect his businesses, he knew it would effect him socially as he would be ostracized from the cocktail parties etc. and he knew that all this would also effect his family.
No man with an ounce of sense or decency would subject himself and his loved ones to that on a whim.
So as the left circles the wagons in ever greater attempts to make DT go away, more and more people realize that if trump is willing to put himself/family through this, he’s doing it for a reason
He already has the answers and did before he ever made his first comment. It’s just a matter of time till he drops them on the heads of the lefties.
As with all liberals, the logic of punishing innocent, poor, sick children for a perceived sin by a billionaire leveled against a millionaire thug playing the role of _resident of the US stands reason on its head.

Honestly, I have enjoyed Seinfeld’ show and stand up routine. But, interestingly, this was the first time ever that I have been given a political stand from him, even a nuance. Some of the shows he did were clearly not PC. Nevertheless, this is disappointing that he would use this opportunity to make his views known. One could have guessed by the company he keeps in Larry David who is openly liberal. He had done a marvelous job of keeping it to himself and staying out of the political arena. Even in an interview once, he stated that he was an actor - who cares what he thinks about things. I liked hearing that.
I was watching Curb Your Enthusiasm last night. Larry David is one of the MOST annoying people on the planet. And I grew up around LOTS of people like him (nebbishy whiners), but I think he is the worst one ever.
But I'll bet he's just fine with the kind of democrat-goguery that the demogogcrats engage in every day!
