I was getting quickly to the crux of my lack of respect for people who aspire to be police officers in the current politiical/cultural environment and keeping it at the two relevant (to the point I was trying to make) categories.
It appears she was correct. Maybe she'll make a good investigator.

She is exactly right. When making a point, I try to avoid un-necessary “noise”.

Well, she is probably studying it harder than me. :p
However, I’ve run my theory by several that were in law enforcement at one time or another and they universally agreed with me, while adding fringe clarifications such as the third category from my op on the subject. However, never wanting to pass up a learning opportunity, would she share what other “significant” reasons people have to pursue being a street cop or highway patrolman?
