45 percent of Republicans and 25 percent of all adults surveyed believe that President Barack Obama was born abroad

Even if Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama had been birthed in the Lincoln Bedroom of the White House he is NOT a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.

Amazing, and hopeful, to see at least three anywhere who understand the real issue. To add to it, Obama defined his citizenship thus: “I am a native-born citizen of the U.S.” That is the definition from Title 8, USC, for a naturalized citizen. A search of the INS Code for natural born or natural-born turns up only the Constitution. He told us the truth, and every Senator surely knew, since they all signed Sen Res 511, Apr 2008, clearly stating that to be a natural born citizen requires parents who are citizens.

Smart people simply don't know the law. It is an obscure part of our Constitution. Saturday, Victor Davis Hanson sadly showed his ignorance, equating jus soli - born on our soil - citizenship with natural born citizenship. We need to help others understand. The law takes a bit of reading, but it is clear and unequivocal. Perhaps the clearest, though not the most concise, in Chief Justice Morrison Waite in Minor v. Happersett:

“The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that.At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.”
