“Actually NO, she is not right. In your quote of the law it keeps talking about the CERTIFICATE. In other words that a certified copy of the ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE is legally the same as the original. DUH. They aren’t going to allow you to have the original birth certificate. They give you a copy, and this law is saying that a copy is just as good. A COLB is NOT a COPY of the original.
Now Hawaii has just changed laws & procedures about birth certificates to be able to TRY to get around having to provide a copy of the original. It won’t work.”
Good point. It's easy to get bamboozled when dealing with words.
