I know alot of wealthy retirees who are not greedy geezers. Retirees paid into the ponzi scheme their whole life but those of us who have paid into the system since we are 16 and will continue to pay for something that we will never get back are tired of being hostage to the seniors who did nothing to help themselves and vote for their meal ticket. Welfare on ALL levels needs to stop now. I’m tired of playing by the rules and getting ripped off because my tax dollars have to go to bail everyone else out.

Rising star Paul Ryan seems to have had a rough outing when talking to seniors in Milton Wisconsin today.

The seniors sound like Trump chumps.

The major flaw of democracy is that once the people discover they can vote themselves tribute, the majority will until it leads to the demise of democracy.

While fully realizing that it's logistically impossible and doomed to fail, I did like Tom Tancredo's idea of some form of literacy testing for voting eligibility. Too many people not invested in (or loyal to) America are voting for self-entitlements.

That said, a more realistic proposal is to repeal the mob rule put into force with the 17th Amendment. The Founding Fathers had this right when they created a REPUBLIC and not a democracy.

At the very least, we need to fight on every front to ensure that the mob doesn't abolish the Electoral College. A direct election of the POTUS is fraught with peril.

“I was not aware of a ‘choice’. (I get more from my 401K than I do from SS.)”

No Kidding. That’s because you planned. All the seniors who didn’t plan and need SS to live. The ones who always vote for senior benefits and the heck with the rest of the country. Those seniors who “chose” not to save additional funds for retirement did choose to put their future in the hands of the government.

Let us be frank. As Walter Williams said recently while he was subbing for Rush: a great share of this country’s woes current can be laid at the foot of the “Greatest Generation.”

Why is it that when the question is asked “why don’t the rich pay their fair share?” the response is not “why doesn’t 45% of the households that pay no federal income taxes pay their fair share?”

Not all of the geezers in that video are greedy. Some of them apparently think that it is the duty of governments to tax rich people in order to take them down a peg so that they can’t endanger the rest of us with their “power”. Meanwhile, there’s this ever-growing, multi-tentacled monster with more power than any individual or corporation known that they all take for granted as the dispenser of social security checks that they supposedly paid all that FICA money for.

Very good point. Unfortunately, the GOP will never ask that question.

That 45% is going to vote for guess who? The party that makes sure that they don’t pay any federal income taxes. That means all the rest of us suckers are stuck paying their share.

I worked 30 years of 50 to 60+ hour weeks and made it to where I don't need it and don't count on it.
I'll make them a deal, they give me 25 cents on the dollar of what I paid into social security and they never will hear from me again.
I'll just say that I was robbed of 75% and the crooks got away. I'm totally serious about that deal.
I think there are a bunch of us who would go for that deal. I'm 64 and haven't gotten a dime of it yet.

Besides, Social Security was only ever meant to SUPPLEMENT retirement. In any event, there is no money, they need to get a grip.

Actually Trump chides the GOP for being stupid enough to advance a budget plan before Obama. He warned that Obama will attack the GOP with it. He rather the GOP sit back and force Obama to take the hit for the financial fiasco and allow the economy to worsen so the GOP will take the gov by a landslide. Then initiate the reforms after taking power. Trump has more common sense and tactical sense then the GOP leadership. That is why our elections are very close even in years where the Dems are the weakest.
Trump said the same on the Bush taxcut extension. He said let the Dems cause it to elaspse and cause an economic slowdown. When the GOP take the House in 2009 they will have a stronger position to force the Dems to reinstate the taxcuts premanently. Again it is common sense tactics yet the GOP did the dumb thing, extend the Bush cuts for only two years and give the Dems breathing room to regroup and strike.
Trump is not a perfect GOP candidate, but he got more common sense then our political class.
