All lawmakers should submit to random drug and alcohol testing, mental fitness tests and a test on the Constitution before taking office.Aw come on -- we'd have no Congressmen at all! Oh, wait...

She was, a couple of years ago, a breast cancer patient. Nowhere near the five year point at this moment, as I recall.
So perhaps she doesn’t have that longer amongst us. If so, it is fascinating to me that she would spend what time she has left in this fashion. She must be really, really driven . . . .

No. The Dims still have their sights set on taking back the House. If Obama wins in 2012, they will likely do so while winning back the House.Mike Barone thinks reapportionment and redistricting will give the GOP around 20 more seats in the House, IIRC. Look at all the damage that Obama will do by then. Daffy Duck should be able to beat Obama.

Because we will follow the law and aren’t quite as scary.

I forgot. Rats won in Congress in 2006 and increased their gains in 2008 by running supposedly “moderate” nominees, many were fiscal conservatives, pro Second Amendent and/or prolife. They are not seeing any of the seats they lost in 2010 any time soon, especially if they return to gun grabbing schemes.

What was that old saying? Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely...
This gal needs to find something else to harp on... Trying to regulate private gun sales would be (as my old school U.S. Navy father would put it) "like trying to empty a battleship bilge with a tablespoon."

On the surface it’s stupid politics. The only way I can explain it is that they are assuming that every single legal gun owner was already going to vote against them anyway and they can raise money this way.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the current law, which allows private firearm sales without background checks, is "outrageous." I'll tell you what's more outrageous and dangerous. Letting people vote without an ID.
