Before I sat down to write this article, I pinched myself just to make sure I was awake and todays subject wasnt some weird dream. But alas, talking heads on both sides of the political spectrum really are seriously entertaining the possibility of President Donald Trump.
At the Daily Beast, Jim DeFede reports on why several Florida Tea Partiers have said theyre backing the Donald:
"We need a real businessman," said Linda Kogelman, 63, a retired postal worker. "The lawyers don't know how to run the country. They bow down to too many people." Kogelman said no one else in the Republican field excites her.
"There is no one there," she continued. "Romney is old hat. Newt is old hat. It's just the same old same old. We need new blood."
Her husband, Ken, 64, who closed his crane business in 2009 because of the downturn in the economy, nodded in agreement.
"They've destroyed this country," he spit. Who?
"The Democrats."
Standing nearby, 78-year-old Richard Walters was holding on to a letter he had written. He was hoping to be able to hand it to Trump.
"I used to be the Rolls Royce dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach," said Walters, who is now retired. "And he was one of my customers."
Fond memories of The Donald?
"I didn't like him," Walters said. "He was an arrogant bastard. But I love him now. He is the only person in this country who can right the ship."

People will always go for style over substance, they like Donalds style, even if they may not see eye-to-eye politically on everything.
People are in tune with Trump because he is actually raising issues. He has sure made the GOP look chicken-feces
I understand what you’re saying. In fact, I also share the same trepidations. But, times are desperate, and we don’t have much time left. The choices on the menu are almost guaranteed “status quo” types that will keep us floating towards the eventual end of the waterfall.
Look at the office of the ‘Presidency’.
it’s almost impossible to unilaterally change the direction of a country by the sheer presence of one individual in the Presidency. Obama did only because the country gave him all the keys to the kingdom (House and 60 senate seats).
To reverse all of this damage (from BUSH and OBAMA), it will take the best ‘FIGHTER’ among FIGHTERS. Not someone just ‘interested’ in being President.
I really can’t see anyone out there that will have the ‘presence’ or ‘shrewdness’ needed to get RESULTS, except possibly someone like Trump.
I agree with you and this commentary.
Agreed !! The GOP establishment never took the birther thing seriously, and as you say, obama should never have been allowed to take the oath of office until he proved his bona fides.
I couldn't agree more.
I want a President who will say "hell no" to Chinese trade manipulation, "hell no" to the loss of US factories, and "hell no" to phony birth certificates.
That there’s a certain part of the primary electorate that would vote for anything, and I mean anything, with enough money that started yelling “Where’s the birth certificate?”
It would be a pity if Trump split the conservative vote, thus allowing a second term for Premier Hussein.
The United States would not survive it in any recognizable form.
That is the stated goal.
A whole lot of Trump’s social and political baggage has to be washed out before he gets mixed in with people like Palin, Bachmann, Cane etc. I would have included West but am very disapponted in his position as to being VP with Trump. He, West, is an honorable man so perhaps he knows Trump’s past is realy and truely water gone by.
IMHO....The Donald =The Empire Strikes Back.
The RinoCrat Oligarchy is scared spitless of a Palin Presidency...and the prospects of Flyover Country insisting upon Constitutional Government.
this is their “solution”....
It’s a conspiracy against women and politicians, I tell ya. Well...the few women who are globalists...and the politicians.
Maybe Trump’s just playing the part of the bow of an icebreaker, knowing his past will catch up to him, but clearing the waters for more viable candidates. Just an idea to toss into the theory pile.
It is way too early.
” The problem is not with Trump....the problem is a Liberal GOP who is more in tune with protecting Barack Obama than pushing for the release of his Long Form BC.”
Donald Trump is just a private citizen right now.
Daring to ask the questions that should have been asked in 2008.
The effort to destroy the guy when he isn’t even a candidate ,
is reaching epic proportions
from the right and the left.
I caught some of Chris Matthews tonight.
He and his guests were having a meltdown..wait for it..because Trump’s
“ racist “ and
“ anti immigrant “ questions about Barry
might destroy the Republican Party.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Matthews played Rove calling anyone who wonders why
the POTUS has a sealed
birth certificate-” the nutty right.”
Matthews played Cantor smirking and calling Trump a joke.
Barry went to the podium last week and
threw the Republicans under the bus by lying about everything
they hope to do with the budget.
And yet , this same group is now crawling out from beneath the bus
to hop on the Obama Love Bus..
.to ..defend..the..guy.
They all say they believe Barry to be a man of honor
and a truth teller.
They find it inconceivable that he would ever lie to the American people.
If Barry ever needs a character witness ,
Rove and Cantor and the rest
would be happy to volunteer.
It’s Bizarro World .
If there ever was a person of such low character
and corrupt nature to pull a fast one on the American public , it’s Barack Obama.
I’m a proud member of the Nutty Right.
Plenty of politicians are pretty pliable, predicated by their partisan political persuasions plus private payments, so Trump might be plump for the picking.
I must have missed it; did The Donald actually say somewhere that he wants a second term for Obama?
I’d like to read that for myself. Can you tell me where you saw it?
Mark Levin is my friend and a friend of FR and a friend of Liberty. Ill thank you not to trash him on this website.
I know you and I disagree on Palin, but man, do we EVER agree on this!!!
Spot on.
Well said. The Donald is looking better with each passing Day, I just hope he is strong on the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
