Perot ran as a third party candidate. Trump would be running as a Republican nominee.

Trump's already said he would run as an Independent if he didn't get the Republican nomination.

Likewise! And unlike Perot, his positions and proposals are specific (for this stage of the game) and are ones with which I largely agree.
Trump has already announced that if he doesn’t win the republican nomination he would consider running as an independent.
