Trump’s angle on this is that we allowed ourselves to get manipulated by China. He didn’t say it but I suspect he will push for higher import taxes and reduced regulation domestically to get us back in the game. His message is you have to give to get and the Chinese are getting all the value of our market almost for nothing. He said we hold all the cards ( in other words they need our market) and we are letting them have it. He indicated that he is experienced working with creditors and understands that working relationship and will not allow this situation to continue.
I love tariffs. Trump can’t slap them on China soon enough! Should have been done 20 years ago. Unlike other freepers I am not a free trader, I am not a libertarian, I can see world markets are rigged and we play the sap due to a loser “free market” ideology that has Americans and freepers entranced
We run a 600 billion dollar trade deficit due to oil/energy imports and Chinese/Asian imports. What more proof do you need that we are being scammed? That we have to import less and make more at home. And produce more oil/natural gas/energy here at home

This is the common sense approach to Communist China....
However, you can bet the Statist Free Traders will whine “Protectionism” that Trump wants the US to be more competitive and self-supporting....AND, that we hold the cards when it comes to Free Trade with the Communist Chinese
Trump understands that it is stupid for the US to be so in debt, and so undercut, by the Communist Chinese
