Now as to Trump's principles, we really don't know what they are do we.
Actually, we do. His record and statements have been documented quite well, and links to them have been posted within this thread and the other Mark Levin/Trump ZOT thread from last night.
The bottom line is that Trump's principles are pretty much the same as Bloomberg's and now that he has spotted a potential opening for himself in the GOP, he has had a sudden "Road to Damascus" conversion, beginning at CPAC.
That won't fly.
I was just tying to explain how the Commercial Construction Industry works in Chicago. It's a dirty game(1). And the *winners* donate to RAT pols in City Hall - or Springfield. That's how one *used to* get on the 'Preferred Bidders List' as a 'Qualified Company' (not illegal as there'd be like Six Contractors named).
(1) Back in 'the olden days' you couldn't get a set of Blueprints 'Approved' by the City on an expedited basis unless a $20 Bill was paper-clipped to the bottom drawing. Naturally that has now been cleaned up and stopped.
At one time in my career I was the Chief Estimator at a certain company. One day the Field Supt walks into my office and asks me to sign my name to a proposal he had worked up for a No Bid Contract - which just happened to be for an amount just under that where the work would require Competitive Bidding (this was for a Gubmint Regulated Utility).
I REFUSED.
By doing so I was putting my job at risk as the Supt's mother was the Vice President and both were 'this close' to the owner.
But I have MY Principles too.
