I believe it’s probably making a reference to the whole ‘picture perfect’ image every Mormon family attempts to portray, but in reality, they are not; many are just hiding the problems and the whole ‘picture perfect’ thing is a facade.

The reason is is Mormons tout family time and the family as the most important unit and that they have far better families than anyone else because of the emphasis the Mormon church places on family. Fact is they probably aren’t any better than any other families, which means the claims that Mormonism helps you have a better family, are probably not as true as they’d want you to believe.

I mean look at the Osmonds too, lots of crap came out about them. Lots of former Mormons talk about their dysfunctional families underneath all the smiling photos of the family.

The mormon church boasts endlessly that they have an "unpaid clergy"....read, "untrained" and "uneducated". No degree in couseling required. For instance: Click Here for an example of how the unpaid clergy handled this case in Arizona.

In October of last year it all unraveled. But instead of going to the police, both families went to their respective bishops.

"Bishop Hansen learns that the abuse is far more extensive than what the defendant had reported to Bishop Meyers, but yet Bishop Hansen doesn't go to the police," said Holmberg.

Instead, the victim's father took it upon himself, and a few days after the meeting at church, he took his son into the police station. That day police recorded a phone call between the victim and Brock, and she allegedly said: "No don't talk about it. If you stop talking about it maybe it will go away and I will get my life back again."

So, we have two members of the "unpaid clergy" possibly influenced by the fact that the husband of the offender was a political figure in the community.

These mormon leaders are supposedly "Called by God" to fill their positions....and as to the "doctor" in this article, "He falsified his undergraduate transcript to help him get into medical school followed by law school and he failed to disclose an earlier conviction for check fraud.

He had also been discharged form the military for schizophrenia."

He also taught Sunday School.

Earlier FR post on this case HERE

the main Mormon church/temple tries to portray their church/temple as full of moral people.. its a marketing tool...like join the Mormon church and you have a perfect life.....

but I don't see that in individual Mormons...most of them you don't even know they are Mormon unless you ask....
