Donald Trump Slams "Evil" Bush, Praises Obama [2008]
NY 1 ^ | 11/11/2008 | By: Dominic Carter

Posted on 04/14/2011 8:34:49 PM PDT by guitarplayer1953

"McCain, really, that was almost an impossible situation," said Trump. Bush has been so bad, maybe the worst president in the history of this country. He has been so incompetent, so bad, so evil that I don't think any Republican could have won."

While he had harsh words for the outgoing president, he had a much different opinion of President-elect Barack Obama.

"I think he has a chance to go down as a great president. Now, if he's not a great president, this country is in serious trouble," said Trump.

Donald sticks his wallet into the wind to see which way it’s blowing..then he’ll give you his opinion.

At this point, I’d vote for anyone who doesn’t like ice cream; I am dreading the summer lactose news cycle with every ounce of my being.

How hard is it to see that only Trump can beat Obama.

You know, at some point you just have to say "I won't vote for a pro abortion, U.N. loving Hillary Clinton supporter." Some guy who was so stupid three years ago to think that Obama might be a great President should stay in entertainment and go broke a few more times.

Eventually you have to stop compromising with evil and plant a flag. Either that or ask Jim to change the website to RINORepublic.

Exactly, I’m shocked that people don’t want to see it.

There’s a “SEND NEWS TIPS TO DRUDGE” on the bottom right of his page where you can submit a comment.

Drudge is actually misrepresenting Trump by saying “yesterday” when it’s from Nov 2008.

And who are you gonna campaign for? Unfortunately there are only three or four candidates within a lightyear of winning the nomination. Trump is 100x the conservative Romlenty is. Campaigning against him might make the establishment happy but it won’t do any good for conservatives

Bush was pretty bad; other than defending the country, he sucked. And, he never communicated. Karl Rove ran him - nuff said.

It’s nimrods like the “purists” on this site which force Trump’s hands into a 3rd party. Great. If Hillary doesn’t do a 3rd/4th party, and Trump runs (I), then Obama finishes off the country. As Rush keeps saying, “sure, then we’ll take Obama for 4 more years if that is what you want”.

Get real.

"I think he has a chance to go down as a great president. Now, if he's not a great president, this country is in serious trouble," said Trump.

At the time, that was a fair and reasonable assessment, and also an accurate prediction.

This "news" is going to work to Trump's advantage, IMO.

His statement(s) have proven true...Bush failed the country miserably with his open border's and spending policies (by the way, where is W? Why does he not slam what's going on, like Cheney has?), and Bambi has turned out to be a (really) bad pResident AND we ARE in serious trouble.

Listen up, Trump said those words right after the GOP lost the 2008 presidential election. At lot of us blamed Bush and called him much worse. It's called passion & love for ones country. When Bush signed the TARP that the GOP establishment pushed after he had already bungled 2 wars that should have already been over, what does that say of Bush? Yes, at that moment, in the heat of passionate patriotism, Trump spoke the truth of the moment. It's been over 2 years, we have all had time to cool off & better reflect, so what are you really saying...

that you are so perfect that you are above human emotion in a time of crisis? Maybe you should run for president since you are so perfect.

Donald Trump 2012 = Ross Perot 1992

Only if we allow it to be. It is up to the “establishment Rebpublicans” to not make it so. If DT has all the popularity, they best pull him in. The establishment won’t cut anything...just look at Boehner. Establishment are weenies and simply move clamshells/walnuts around relocating the pea. Prove me wrong on this. DT isn’t a social conservative, but a VP could be under him. I’d like to see DT and Palin as VP. We need a CEO to run the country. Perot happened because we had on experience in such a thing...Which would you rather have, establishment Romney, Pawlenty, Gingrich or Donald or Obama? If you say Palin, sure, I’d rather, too, but there isn’t any movement there unless she declares 1 yr out like Reagan did.

Yep. Forgot about them. I like bachmann but have trouble imaging her candidacy going anywhere for some reason. Always liked santorum but again can’t imagine him as a president. If palin doest run I am not sure who I’d support. Some sort of lesser of evils calculation I suppose.

Why's Trump having to do the work of Boehner?

Did you ever wonder that?

Pelosi made sure McCain was legal. She just forgot to ask Obama to show his records.

If anything the weak GOP Congress will cost us.

Where's Boehner on all this? He's elected.

I may be posting this on a thread about some heated comments from 2008, but I don’t care one whit about those comments.

I’m more concerned with his recent comments that he would certainly run as a third party ESPECIALLY if he did not win the Republican nomination.

That guarantees a replay of 1992. “So be it” he says.

Sounds indistinguishable from someone who may be a stealth rabble-rouser for Obama’s team.

Where’s the electorate on this?

Why did the electorate allow such a travesty?

If the electorate doesn’t give a whit about the Constitution, how is an elected representative supposed to overrule “the will of the people”?

If the "will of the people" trump the US Constitution then we as conservatives have lost already.
