There are things that mystify and fascinate us beyond belief, and then theres Donald Trumps hair. Trump, who many political commentators now believe is planning a run for the presidency, tends to get highly defensive of his world-famous coiffure every time someone suggests its a toupee. Because its not. Its a tonsorial work of art.

My parents weren’t free-thinking, let-it-all-hang-out types but . . . I remember them watching The Naked Civil Servant when it aired on TV and I was allowed to watch it with them until it got a bit too explicit. Dad shifted uncomfortably in his chair and looked at my mother and said “Hey! Shouldn’t a certain someone be off to bed?” I was probably nine. No harm done.
I only saw the movie once; I don’t remember it being explicit but it was a long time ago. Certainly the incredibly witty and sad book it is based on was not explicit in the least.
I just read a dual biography of Crisp and another artist and it tells amazing stories of Crisp’s nonchalance (sp!) and bravery during the Blitz. I knew him slightly at the end of his life. He was a very nice, kind and incredibly brilliant and witty man. He lived on the same street as the Hell’s Angels in lower Manhattan - and they actually protected him. He was very small and frail at the end.
He was no gay rights activist. He despised organizations of any kind believing only in the individual. At the end, he was hated by the insane gay rights fanatics of NYC. His real name was Denys Pratt. He changed it sometime in the 1920s because of his family’s shame and its undignified nature.
Thanks for in the instructions. I’ll try and put them to use. By the way, I never said The Donald wasn’t born blond. I’m sure he was. All I’m saying is: like most middle-aged to old men, he’s lost alot of his hair and is dying it a rather peculiar color.
But let’s let it go! I like the Donald and am cheering him on.
Sure, we could leave it there. I’m fine with your wrongful assertions and persistence in error.
If he used spray polyurethane, he’d be OK.
The Trump Fauxhawk!! Gotta love it!
The way he's slamming Obama, he can do anything he wants to his hair! Keep it up, Donald!
"Well, mostly it's badger, with this much chinchilla for softness."
But Miss Marmelstein! It HAS to be bleached orange to go with his skin!
(And I am loving the Donald for what he is doing to the Barack!)
He was an adorable child!
You know, I was trying to be friendly because we all share a common cause - we’ve got to get rid of Obama. But you couldn’t go there, could you?
I think John Boehner wears a toup, too. Whaddya think?
I prefer to be led by example.
OK, you’ve proven you’re a jerk way beyond your silly, nonsensical and frankly looney assertion that Donald Trump’s orange bird’s nest is a New York hairstyle and an authentic color perhaps imported from planet Mars. Don’t talk to me and I won’t talk to you.
I have only been responding to your occasionally unhinged, unsolicited messages to me. Call it whatever you like.
