Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) talks about how he enjoys hearing the pledge of allegiance at the beginning of the Senate session, however does not say "under God." Instead, he says "one nation, indivisible."

I don't disagree with you. He not only feels contempt for the great unwashed intellectually, he feels entitled to take personal financial advantage of them as well. I am quite familiar with his spate of real estate scams, particularly outright theft of water rights.
Sorry I should have said Communist Mormonist Bastard.
Especially when the Messiah forbade taking oaths.
Thanks - we are in agreement. People in the general public need to be educated regarding their elected officials. (cough)
I don’t know about you, but I am really tired of hearing story after story of how our “public servants” enrich themselves at the taxpayer’s expense. These types of individuals are the worst example of con artists, cheats and opportunists. In the old days they used to be called by the common name of “crooks” and were oftentimes (when they were caught) run out of town on a rail. Perhaps we need to bring back the good ‘ol days...
Ok, that’s more like it - don’t hold back. :)
Even worse is how they sell us out to wealthy donors seeking regulatory advantages in the marketplace. I'm beginning to think that the election of District Attorneys and Attorney Generals may be of more importance than administrative or legislative positions. I want these creeps to rot in jail doing hard labor.
Yep - just like the Supreme Court may be more important than POTUS.
The revolving door is the big problem in DC - elected representatives, pentagon officials, military higher ups, heck, even staffers, who work for the gubmint then take on lucrative jobs as lobbyists or contractors...fun and games in DC./s
Maybe he would prefer under Satan.
In the Bible, Jesus talks about the true of Good Fruit and the Tree of Bad Fruit, and that one knows a person by the "fruit they bear".
Maybe this problem of Senator Reid might be telling his path in life -- successful on earth [materialistically] -- but perhaps headed for trouble upon his death...
It was during a time of great bloodshed that this was added (the American Civil War).
The under God was added either during or just after World War II, which was not a very blood letting for the United States, but there was about 100 million deaths worldwide from it, and Communism spread like wildfire after it.
Of course, then there is the case of PRAYER being done away with. This country has gone to hell since that time -- circa early 1960's. There was at least some morality left in the country at that time. Harder to find these days...
How many babies have been killed since abortion has been legalized? 40 million and counting?
More single parent Mom's than families having babies after the parents are FIRST married...
Silly me to think that God, Family, and Country are important...
The Pledge is a socialist, collectivist creed itself. Reid’s revealing gaffe aside, I’ll never understand how conservatives can revere it. See http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=3296 for starters.
Advocating historical accuracy is in no way advocating a secular nation. The socialist source of the pledge as allegiance to the State is a fact. Deal with it as you will. I prefer to heed Matthew 5:33-37 instead.
