Way back when, my sister-in-law was driving a new Edsel through an ‘S’ curve when the steering wheel and three feet of steering column came loose in her hands. The good news was no injuries resulted although the car went off road at about 60mph and stopped in a shallow swamp. Scared the crap out of everyone. She was a polio victim and had leg braces and used arm crutches to walk. No lawsuits were ever filed.
Things were different then...

Tea party, Rascist, homophobic sabatours! Or just more crap from Detroit. The city is falling apart, and so are the cars. BUT THE UNION IS STROGER THAN EVE! (to bad the union can’t buid cars...?)

I like the picture montage at the end showing the metal shavins, flakes, chewed up threads and battered ribbing on the column.
Wonder how much of that was factory floor damage?
1609 miles on the Odo probably isn’t sufficient to produce that amount of metal debris, unless the fit of the wheel was extremely poor.
In which case- RECALL time.

I believe this story is a great metaphor for what has happened to our country. Things are falling apart at rapid speed under this turkey.
