The Association of American Educators has a bigger and better professional liability policy than the NEA's.

And AAE dues are $15 a month.

And AAE is the kind of professional organization the NEA could never even hope to be.

oh, the AAE really IS what a teacher’s association should be. No question there.

The problem, as Mygirsom pointed out, is that in some place, WI in this case, the NEA has its own insurance racket that forces the schools to buy its insurance and the teachers themselves don’t pay (at least not directly).

Maybe as Walker’s law is enacted about the dues having to be paid directly vs. withheld, the teachers will look more to a reputable outfit like AAE. I sure hope they plan to do some serious recruiting in WI over the next couple of years.
