We actually have a lot of them in this part of FL. They are usually pretty skittish but this was a potentially very foolish thing this woman did.
We have them in the City of Chicago and in no small numbers. They have been filmed walking around the Loop at night like they own the place. And in the County forest preserves they are common.
We are lousy with them here in the Atlanta suburbs. One took a run at our Chihuahua as we were walking her on the leash one night. I had to pick her up while the fiancee’ brandished a maglight at it. We went out on the deck about 20 minutes later and tried to call it up with our dying rabbit call. We could hear it moving around behind the woodpile but could not get a shot at it. Wed I was driving down the main drag heading for the PO and there was a coyote standing on the curb waiting to try to cross the street. They are very bold.
