That is called collegiality, and the purpose is to avoid fistfights and beatings on the floor of congress, as there used to be. It is even more important when you spend 10 months of the year working together, as opposed to a couple of months every two years, as in pre-Civil War days.

That's where we'll have to agree to disagree. Fact is we're cutting spending. That is a WIN. You cannot tell me Obama or any of the other Dems would have cut spending if Nancy Pelosi was in control in the House. Also, the defunding of Planned Parenthood now has to come up as a stand alone bill. The House will vote to defund it. There are 23 Dems up for re-election in the Senate, many from red states. If they vote to keep tax payer funded abortions they'll have to run on it in 2012. Finally Obama said in his speech tonight that under different circumstances there wouldn't be cuts. Obama and the Dems are the big LOSERS tonight not Boehner.

It was never going to be easy..we knew that. Stay the course and get rid of these rino’s and/or conservatives who caved, one by one. And replace them with conservatives, one by one. I have a choice, and my choice is not to prop up people who cave. I’m tired of going to bat for them and having them fold on me. The Republicans had better wake up to the reality that they need conservatives and the Tea Party more than those two groups need the Republicans.
