If he wants to cave to the Democrat bums who stab us in the back at every turn, fine.
I have a theory. Tell me if I’m wrong;
Boehner is just a front man. Window dressing. Liberals like to demonize Conservatives but that’s hard to do when you have an emotional, teary eyed individual in the forefront. Good cop bad cop scenario.
Yeah, and your remarks are so typical of someone who, one, doesn't understand the problem we face. And, two, doesn't have a coherent argument to support their ridiculous objection to my commentary. So, you attack me personally. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, except me? Is that how this works? Did your rant make you feel better? Here's a clue for you: It ain't about me, cowboy, despite your best efforts to make it about me. The tactic you use here is undeniable proof you have lost the debate! Debates are won with facts, not personal attacks. It is utterly amazing the things some people who frequent Free Republic think they know from just a few words in a post. Is it really necessary to hurl insults to make your point? Such a tired old tactic so often used here on Free Republic by people who just don't understand the subject at hand or don't have an intelligent, fact based rebuttal to offer.
Perhaps the real issue here is your lack of understanding of the MASSIVE debt and deficit we face, courtesy of people like Ryan. This nation is sinking and sinking fast, Chief. The situation we face is dire. What we are headed for over the next few decades is going to make the Great Depression look like a walk in the park by comparison if these politicians don't quit pussy-footing around this spending issue. If we stopped spending money right now best case we are looking at GENERATIONS to pull ourselves out of this hole many of these same people you call "leaders" created, assuming it is even possible to recover without a a complete collapse. These proposals (and the bill passed last night) just kick the can down the road to future generations. Well, guess what? We don't have time to kick the can down the road anymore! We're spending money that hasn't been made by Americans who haven't even been born yet right now!. Get it?
We have a budget DEFICIT of $l.5 TRILLION per year! (and growing). Think about that for a moment. Our accumulated debt passed 100% of GDP a couple of months ago. Spending increased 25% in the past two years alone and somehow we're supposed to be all giddy about these weak 2% (actually closer to .5%) spending cut proposals? We are accumulating debt at a rate of $6 million/minute! Our debt grew by over $260 BILLION in March alone! What part of that do you not understand? The single largest entitlement program since the (not so) Great Society, Medicare Part D, was passed by a majority Republican Congress, including an "Aye" by none other than the great Paul Ryan (R-WI), as well as many of the other faces in "leadership" you claim to see today. This boondoggle was signed into law by a Republican POTUS. It is now over $160 BILLION in the hole and sinking fast as the "boomers" begin to retire. The debt is only going to get worse.
As a result of these sorts of boondoggles the Fed is printing and borrowing money from the Communist Chinese like it's going out of style. In case you haven't noticed the past few bond sales haven't really gone all that well. The ship is sinking, man. Fast. We're talking about the very survival of the Republic here. Don't you get that? Given the nightmare we're facing remind me again why I should be satisfied with this lame "leadership" that has thus far been demonstrated?
And, if you dont see leadership, then it is because of your scorn for those who ARE leading, such as Paul Ryan.
Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, that same Paul Ryan who voted for the Medicare Part D entitlement boondoggle? LOL! Was Ryan "leading" when he voted for tens of billions of dollars in deficit spending in Medicare Part D? Unlike so many of the newbies here on FR I've been following politics closely for 30+ years. I've heard these same tired old lines over and over and over from the likes of Paul Ryan. They might fool you, but they don't fool me. FYI, I've voted in every election since 1980, and, no, I don't vote for Socialists on either side of the aisle. I cast my first vote for POTUS by pulling the lever for Ronaldus Magnus and I've voted for Conservatives ever since. Can you say the same?
The nation's debt continues to climb rapidly. Everything you know about the America you grew up in is about to change and change dramatically if we don't get a real grip on this spending nonsense. Do you realize a total financial collapse of our system could be as close as two years away? Does it really appear that our "leaders" are showing the urgency the situation demands? How much longer do you really think these wonderful "leaders" are going to be able to keep the charade going? Ever been to a 3rd world country? I've been to many. I know exactly what we're headed for. It ain't pretty. I will view Paul Ryan as a leader when he stops voting for Socialistic ideas like Medicare Part D and actually PASSES bills that seriously reduce spending. Any swinging dick can make proposals. True leadership manifests itself by following through and making well thought out proposals a reality, not just making idle suggestions and gaining face time in front of the cameras when you have a history of voting for massive Socialistic gubmint boondoggles. Time will tell if Paul Ryan has achieved conversion to a true Conservative leader or if he is just another kool-aide drinking, moronic Washington insider. Thus far, his track record ain't that great, despite what you might think.....
Hell yeah. Who does this Hoesktra think he is, to give Tea Party members bitch orders? Boehner needs to be watched forever and a day, he’s been in the Beltway for quite a while and thus is danger of losing touch with reality.
The problem is that the people you pick as your “true conservative” heroes or heroines end up making gaffe after gaffe, and appear to not know what they are talking about or what governing is about. They have narrow agendas and narrow appeal. And even if Superman himself became a member of Congress, he would soon fall out of your favor.
I love the way they always go after the “tan,” which is not a tan but Boehner’s natural complexion. The same people who criticize “RINOs” for superficial attributes or rumored habits are the same ones who idolize and admire their chosen ones for “hotness” or having “balls” or other characteristics over which they drool, which all seems juvenile and beside the point to me.
Lately, there has been an unusual focus on superficialities on this board.
Boehner's "tan"...Boehner's "crying"...McConnell's "boring delivery"...Palin's "accent"...Palin's "lack of education"...even Palin's "knowing the words to a country song".
Notice that all of these complaints are directed at a GOP leader -- somebody we're more-or-less counting upon to lead us out of the wilderness. And all are figures uniformly hated by the left and their lapdog media.
I really don't think that's a coincidence.
I beg to differ...if it were NOT for the Tea party...the GOP would be in control of both the House and the Senate!!!
That’s the trouble, we voted for ALL of them, and we have been betrayed ad nauseum.
Boehner should RESIGN.
That's the understatement of the year! I remember when FreeRepublic was respected and politicians and some media paid attention.
I don't think you'd find Tony Snow and Barbara Olsen hanging out here today.
Now our juveniles have given "judging a man by the color of his skin" a whole, new meaning! LOL!
“I beg to differ...if it were NOT for the Tea party...the GOP would be in control of both the House and the Senate!!!”
The G.O.P. yes. Conservatives? Not so much.
This is your post I replied to...G.O.P stated, conservatives, not mentioned.
Boehner is the wrong guy to fight for us because you never trust anyone who looks like he has a year-round suntan?
That's one persuasive argument. Thanks for sharing!
Um. No.
I’ve got a year-round suntan, sport: it comes as a fairly natural consequence of being outdoors.
Try it sometime...
