Conservatives are urging their grass-roots colleagues to mute their criticisms of House Speaker John Boehner and the GOP leadership, and to get behind their efforts to address out-of-control spending in Washington.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax on Thursday, former GOP Rep. Pete Hoekstra said the tea-party faithful need to give Boehner a little bit of breathing room.

Boehner does not have a tan. His skin coloring is natural. You sound just a like a Democrat with your desire to throw Boehner out of office. In fact, you angry tea party types are one of the best things happening on the political scene, with your ignorant divisiveness, from the Democrat point of view.
Hear, hear!!
These days, "angry tea-party types" are likely not tea-party types at all -- but something else, altogether.
Your remarks are so typical of the “never satisfied, never been satisfied, never will be satisfied” types who sit out elections when none of the candidates are “pure conservative” enough for you. So, you don’t like any of the Republicans in office. Did you vote for any of them? Or, not?
And, if you don’t see leadership, then it is because of your scorn for those who ARE leading, such as Paul Ryan.
There Is No More Time. There Is No More Breathing Room. If Hoekstra doesn’t get it, there’s a reason he’s a FORMER rep. If Bohner doesn’t get it, he needs to get the hell out of the way and let someone lead who does get it.
I suspect that the problem is that the tea party BLOC that we now have is refusing to budge, realizing that if not now, when? If not they, who?
I wonder about that, just having a look at the posting on this thread and their shallow objections to Boehner's complexion. I don't see anything knowledgeable in their objections to him, nor any mention of the strong, firm stand he took at his presser this morning. As far as I am concerned, they are in the same camp with the angry pantywaist democraps.
It’s true. You can NEVER hold “congress” to its word because the next “congress” can do anything it likes as long as it has the votes, including changing, watering down, or reneging on prior comittments.
Basically, when I hear any of them talk about XX billion over 10 years and crap, I shut down. All I care about is what they do THIS YEAR and NEXT year. That’s all they have control over.
Golly, a seminar "caller" as Rush would say. If Boehner doesn't get off his RINO butt and stop this crap in D.C., I hope to join a large chorus of Tea Partiers to throw him OUT!
And I don't care where he got his tan!
Yep. Former GOP Rep. Pete Hoekstra needs to STFU!
The press lives and loves to see this happen as they think it'll fracture any kind of cohesiveness within the right.
I’m just not in his district. Candace Miller got re-elected.
Exactly.
“Hoekstra: Tea Party Should Back Off on Boehner.”
BS. This is the only thing Democrats understand.
Great point.
Hoekstra, Bite me!
Chill Pete, our bets are on the right horses...
Thanks for the links. Yeah, I’ve been on Sarah Palin’s Facebook since she opened it and also saw this going on all the way back in 2000 in Usenet groups. They do it to all candidates and elected officials.
Some may get paid this day and age but do not underestimate the liberals. A lot of them are real too and cannot be allowed to send out their propaganda without any rebuttal. Their goal is to lose votes and support for the candidate, the party and our agenda.
The tea party members are the very people who threw numerous Democrats and Republicans out the door in Congress in the past election. Trust me, smart people know that the Democrats tremble in fear of the tea party.
Huckabees saying the same thing. Well, we see where this is going...
