John Boehner could end up doing double duty as House speaker and a house cleaner if theres a government shutdown this week. While a shutdown would freeze many of the federal governments operations, it would also bring non-essential functions of the District of Columbias government including trash collection to a standstill, and that has some residents of the capital city steamed.
A group of District residents emerging on Facebook is planning to bring their trash to House Speaker John Boehners (R-Ohio) Capitol Hill home. The group, called If Boehner shuts down the government I am taking my trash to his house, is arranged around a simple principle: if he won't allow us to use OUR TAX DOLLARS to pick it up, maybe we should just BRING IT TO HIM.
If there is a shutdown, the organizers wrote in a Thursday morning update, we'll make sure it's done in a sanitary and respectful way. As of noon, more than 900 people had joined the event.
D.C. congressional Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, a Democrat, could barely contain her anger on a Thursday morning local TV appearance. District residents are being treated as colonists of the Congress of the United States and we are absolutely outraged, she said. This is the functional equivalent of bombing innocent civilians.

I love that.
“If BOEHNER shuts down the government...”
F-—ing idiots.
The Speaker doesnt have the power to shut down the government, the House passed that CR I think, the Senate did not. They should be taking their trash to the White House and Harry Reid.
But then again, this was done by political operatives and their MSM friends.
It’s not a FB group, it’s an “event,” one of the horrible things that asks for all your info in order to join. Notice how this is worded: It’s all his fault.
I got no problem with members of Congress taking on jobs to keep the capital clean. I say let Pelosi scrub the toilets. . .with her toothbrush.
NO it doesn’t it did not ask me. I went ahead and reported it as a threat of violence.
They dont have a trash problem? They just vote it into an office.
