I disagree. Granted, I am a materialist, but materialists have certainly been known to reproduce on occasion, after all. I simply have no desire to do so myself. Children are messy, expensive, and require an investment of time and responsibility that I'm not willing to make.

I was simply pointing out that being a materialist does not require one to remain childless. Do you disagree?

What's more, pointing out that I don't want children because I don't want to assume the responsibility of raising them is hardly a materialist reason as such.
