Why should the students, who for the most part don’t pay taxes, and may be from away, or plan to move out of state after they graduate, dictate to the rest of the state that they should carry these state-paid deadbeats forever?

Uhhhh, the students could vote because it's the law. They, if registered, voted legally.

It is too bad you feel so distressed about students.
