Leftists attract the vote of hardworking country folk the same way everywhere: cast the Democratic candidate in the light of being "for the little man" and "fairness" while vilifying Republicans and cheats and oppressors. Class warfare at its finest. A former elderly landlord/friend was one of these; conservative in all respects, but married to the Democratic Party because of atrocious deceit.
It does not help when we have a bunch of RINOs on our side daily toiling away making their point for them.
