Live thread: Wisconsin Supreme Court election - Prosser vs Kloppenburg

This election is important nationally too. If Kloppenburg is elected the Wisconsin mandate by the electorate in 2010 in this state will be negated by the WI Supreme Court and the unions will have won.

I live in a hardcore conservative area and discovered today that my Prosser yardsign was mutilated and thrown into one of my plantings.

Pray for Wisconsin and for Prosser's election!

Lake Mills might give Prosser about two hundred votes over Kloppenburg.
We still will be on a hair’s edge.

So, it could be reasonably concluded, although not provable, that all the money for advertising for Kleptomaniac resulted in a 4% vote gain.

How important is it that the margin of victory be out of recall range for David Prosser? If recall is requested, how are the chances for Prosser to be declared the winner?
I fear this is 2000 Bush II/Gore fight for FL EC votes.....

Same day registration is BS, too.

I believe that was foisted on us by the feds via the Klintoons with “Motor Voter”. I would think it should NOT be applicable in STATE/LOCAL elections.

It’s unreal. Since there’s obviously got to be a recount, I want Klopditz to have to ask for it and explain why. I’m hoping for Prosser to win this by one vote.

Yeah, well, it bothered Washingtonians so much with Christine Fraudoire they did it again four years later.

Don’t hold your breath. As long as people have Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohen, a couple other circuses and a little bread to go with it, they don’t care enough to do anything. They don’t remember it even if they were aware of it when it happened.

Update on town of Lake Mills:

“Because of problems with its tally seats, the township has not officially reported any vote tallies as of yet to Jefferson County and that means that between 700 and 760 votes have not been entered in the statewide totals for a seat on the state’s highest court.

Election officials in the township were expected to meet at 8:30 a.m. this morning to finish counting 24 paper ballots that have not yet been counted, make the necessary correction to their tally sheets and then report their vote totals to the County Clerk’s office at the courthouse. But that meeting did not occur because of a lack of a quorum of the town’s Board of Canvassers. A new meeting time has been officially posted by town officials and is now scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m.”

Brilliant analysis!

Sounds perfectly evil, hence perfect SOP for the Rats.

We have the results from 40 out of 41 Jefferson Co. precincts.

On average, Prosser has picked up 322 and the Commie has picked up 234 from each of these precincts.

If the 41st is “average” Prosser will gain 88 votes cutting the Commie’s lead to 118!!!

Hopefully this is the most conservative precinct!

They both went down in that snapshot you posted, total of about 500 votes.

Weird.

Either it’s new trick or a correction to a genuine mistake. I suspect the former: subtract votes from both under the guise of “error”, but subtract fewer from your candidate.

I don’t think pub turnout broke 50%.

Deplorable assholes. Just deplorable, infuriating jackasses.

760 votes in the precinct,

assuming 60%GOP/40%Dem,

then Kloppdinger’s lead decreases by 150 to 58 votes.

I am afraid that this doesn’t bode well for beating Obama in WI. Am I wrong?

The political situation in WI and many other places is complex. I don't have all the answers. That's why I use words like "may."

Assuming that the union goons win this election (when is the last time the GOP won a recount?), that could encourage leftists in other states. On the other hand, they did spend a lot of money, and that may limit their future political campaign options.

I wouldnt count on WI anyway. The GOP last won it in 1984. If they didn’t win in 88 and 04 under good circumstances it’s unlikely they’ll win in 12, especially against Obama. He’ll be very strong in all of the Kerry blue states from 2004. Our best bet is to focus on the 9 states that switched from Bush in 2004(NC, IN, VA, OH, FL, IA, NM, CO, NV)

Weekly Standard, citing a Milwaukee tv station, is stating that the 41st precinct came in, and that Prosser is behind/lost by 209 votes.

ALL VOTES IN!!!

Votes from the final precinct to be counted in the Wisconsin State Supreme Court race are in and tallied and with all the votes and precincts counted across the state, JoAnne Kloppenburg finishes with an unofficial lead of 204 votes over incumbent justice David Prosser.

The final precinct to be counted was the Town of Lake Mills in Jefferson County. Problems with the tally sheets delayed the vote count last evening until just before noon this morning.

Prosser has said he will ask for a statewide recount and given the close margin, the state will pay for it. The final margin was 740,087 for Kloppenburg and 739,883 for Prosser, both sides at 50 percent of the vote in this closely contested election.
