The war is no longer against Al Qaeda, it is against.... well, I'm not sure who we are fighting there anymore. We overthrew the Taliban because they were harboring Al Qaeda. We are now fighting on the same side as Al Qaeda in Libya and supporting Al Qaeda in Egypt and Yemen.
We are no longer fighting the mission we went to Afghanistan to fight. We are burning bibles and excusing terrorism allegedly because we have freedom of speech and religion in America and the Islamists don't like it.
So if we are fighting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, then why are we fighting on their side in Libya? Why did we support the Al Qaeda revolutionaries in Egypt and Yemen?
To paraphrase Country Joe and the Fish:
And its one two three
What are we fighting for
Don't ask me I don't give a damn
Next stop is Afghanistan.
IMHO our mission in Afghanistan ended when our own military started burning bibles. There is nothing left there worth dying for.
