Islamists in Egypt seek change through politics

The secular reformers and twentysomething urbanites at the vanguard of the Jan. 25 revolution have found themselves eclipsed.

The Muslim Brotherhood's calls for a relatively mainstream Islamic government appeals to its majority of educated and professional members. In Egypt's first taste of true democracy, the Brotherhood and more fundamentalist Salafist organizations, however, told followers that it was their religious duty to vote to approve a referendum on constitutional amendments that benefited Islamists by speeding up elections.

The protests in Cairo's Tahrir Square that ended with Mubarak retiring to his villa on the Red Sea riveted the Middle East. That drama suggests that Egypt's post-revolutionary era — its emerging blend of politics and Islam — will have tremendous influence on what evolves in coming generations across the region.

It’s gonna suck to be a Christian in Egyopt.
Or anywhere else, soon.

Lock and load, boys and girls.

The secular reformers and twentysomething urbanites at the vanguard of the Jan. 25 revolution

Stop right there. Do these LAT dopes really believe that secular reformers and "twentysomething urbanites" were the vanguard of the revolution? Simply amazing. More proof--as if we needed any--that most Lib reporting is projecting their fantasies onto a situation.

A "revolution" must be liberal and led by the good guys. You know, "secular reformers" and the "youth." If it turns out that a bunch of thugs have taken power, well they must have "hijacked" the revolution.

Anyone with half a brain should have known that the Muslim Brotherhood was the only remotely organized opposition to Mubarak. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Led into war by a cipher president, who can't be trusted, we end up helping the Brotherhood take over North Africa!

We're living through a farce (flop), wrapped in a mockery (sick comedy), wrapped in an enigma, imitating a president known as Zer0.

He lies about every detail that slithers out of his mouth. The form, substance, background, data, interpretation and meaning of every detail. He lies about his birth, his associates, his appointees, his policies, his activities, his thoughts, his family, everything. It's as if he can't speak a word without turning it into a dozen lies. Does anybody truly believe that he rejects the venom of Wright, Ayers, Jones, and hundreds of others, including his own spouse? Does anybody truly believe that he loves this country and wants the best for its people?

First he told the world we are no longer a Christian nation. I guess he means the US and the West have been officially dhimmitized with respect to Islam (psychologically conquered). Now the US has been dragged into another uprising in another Muslim country trying to take their leader out of power and I believe replace him with Mullah leadership and Sharia law backed by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Mr. Obama says that Gaddafi is on 'the wrong side of history.' It's interesting that the president knows where history is going in the Mideast. For the past 1400 years, there has been no democracy anywhere in the Mideast -- except in Israel. And Mr. Obama's policies seem to be aiding and abetting those who have shown the bitterest hatred of Israel.

Only two non-Arab peoples have managed to obtain their independence: the State of Israel in 1948, 1308 years after the Islamic conquest of the Holy Land, and South Sudan a few weeks ago, after 40 years of bitter war and more than 2 million dead.

Can a true democracy in the Arab world recognize the legitimacy of Israel? Democracies are supposed to look for compromise and concentrate on economic and social progress. Unfortunately it is highly doubtful whether true democracies will rise in the region.

The Muslim Brotherhood is for strict Sharia law, along with all the restrictions that have been piled on since the Middle Ages.

It's the return of the Taliban - Part II.

With Islam you see things like:

  1. Fourteen Year Old Girl Raped, Charged With Adultery, and Lashed to Death
  2. Two UN staff beheaded and eight others murdered in protest against U.S. pastor who burnt Koran
  3. Islamists Threaten to Disrupt Prince William's Wedding
  4. 12 killed in Afghanistan after protests over reported Koran burning
  5. DOJ sues to give extra vacation to Muslims
  6. U.S. Muslims Shouldn't Talk With FBI Unless They Have a Lawyer, Activist Tells Senators
  7. 1,000 'freelance jihadists' join Libyan rebels
  8. Past ties between Gadhafi, Farrakhan, Obama, U.S. Muslim groups raising questions
  9. Dick Durbin holds Muslim rights hearings
  10. Muslim Jihad in Christian Ethiopia
  11. White House Plays Down Concern About Potential Libyan Rebel Terror Links
  12. Obama Advisor: 'Invade Israel'
  13. University Protects Student Who Issued Jihadist Death Threats Against Conservatives and Jews
  14. John Conyers wants a federal inquiry into allegations that border control agents are unfairly targeting Muslim Americans.

The left supports muslim terrorists because the left is made up of cowards, wimps and an American-hating president.

There is nothing worse for America than this embittered, racist cipher manipulating the system from within.

Follow along for a minute or two...

Muslims are by far the world's largest practitioners of religious discrimination. Their supremacist, imperialistic and sexist positions are specifically spelled out in the Koran and Sunna. But they are clamoring for special rights, privileges and considerations within Western societies that are unavailable to any other group in many Muslim majority countries.

Cartoongate ushered in a new standard of behavior that has had a chilling effect on free speech and expression when it comes to all things Muslim. But Israel can be depicted with the usual Nazi death-camp imagery. The aftermath of the cartoon incident established Muslims as a uniquely protected group to be effectively shielded from all critique and ridicule. Noteworthy is that this new Muslims-only standard mirrors the Islamic doctrine of shariah that confers superior legal and political status for Muslims in parallel with a subservient status -- dhimmitude -- for non-Muslims. Today, Obozo avoids even the merest shadow of negativity when it comes to Muslims and thus enables our sworn enemies.

Many of the Mideast protesters are 'secular,' the White House believes.

Barack may well be an Islamist for he is certainly pulling for a united, Sharia fueled Ummah (the Muslim world community) and maybe even one under a caliphate. The last of which was established by the Turkish Ottomans.

Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough called it a 'lie' that Muslims want a universal Islamic state.

But the University of Maryland recently surveyed Muslims in Indonesia, Egypt, Pakistan and Morocco, and found that 77% agree with al-Qaida's quest to 'unify all Islamic countries into a single Islamic state.'

The movement traces its roots to the Muslim Brotherhood, a worldwide jihadist group founded in Egypt in 1928. Its bylaws call for Muslims to 'fight the tyrants and the enemies of Allah as a prelude to establishing an Islamic state.'

Its spiritual leader is Yusuf al-Qaradawi. After 9/11, he issued a fatwah calling for 'the spread of Islam until it conquers the entire world and includes both the East and West, marking the beginning of the return of the Islamic caliphate.'

Al-Qaradawi has said that Muslims should acquire nuclear weapons to 'terrify' their enemies.

Over the next decade, Harvard professor Niall Ferguson warns, "it's far more likely that a caliphate will emerge from the Mideast turmoil than Western-style democracies."

So one day we'll wake up living next to a restored caliphate in which radical Islam is the ideology, not just in Iran but in the entire Middle Eastern region and then we'll have get serious about a security threat that nobody in this administration seems to take seriously.

If the caliphate is recreated, it would grow out of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), a 57-nation Muslim bloc that includes Saudi Arabia and Iran. Most are Koranic literalists that believe in following exactly all the teachings of their unchanging, unevolving holy books.

Islam has three sacred texts: Koran, Sira, and Hadith, or the Islamic Trilogy. The Sira is Mohammed's biography. The Hadith are his traditions -- what he did and said. Sira and Hadith form the Sunna, the perfect pattern of all Islamic behavior.

The Koran is the smallest of the three books. It is only 16% of the Trilogy text. The Sunna is 84%. Most of the Islamic doctrine is about Mohammed, not Allah.

It turns out that jihad occurs in large proportion in all three texts. The Sira devotes 67% of its text to jihad. Mohammed averaged an event of violence every six weeks for the last nine years of his life. Jihad was what made Mohammed successful.

The Koran says 91 different times that Mohammed's is the perfect pattern of life. It is easy to understand a biography about a man. To know Islam, know Mohammed.

Mohammed was a preacher of religion, Islam grew at the rate of ten new Muslims per year. But when he turned to jihad, Islam grew at an average rate of ten thousand per year.

All the details of how to wage jihad are recorded in great detail. The Koran gives the great vision of jihad -- world conquest by the political process. The Sira is a strategic manual, and the Hadith is a tactical manual, of jihad.

The political violence of the Koran is eternal and universal. The political violence of the Bible was for that particular historical time and place. This is the vast difference between Islam and other ideologies. The violence remains a constant threat to all non-Islamic cultures, now and into the future. Islam is not analogous to Christianity and Judaism in any practical way. Beyond the one-god doctrine, Islam is unique unto itself.

Overseas, Hamas, which is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, has been designated a terrorist organization under our law for many years. According to its charter, Hamas's purpose is to create an Islamic Palestinian state by eliminating Israel through violent jihad.

The Muslim Brotherhood explained in an internal memorandum that their work in the United States was as a 'grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.' The Brotherhood said its tactic would be 'sabotage.'

The 1991 memorandum elaborates that every city should have an 'axis' and 'perimeter' from which this jihad-by-sabotage strategy is headquartered. That axis will be known as 'the Islamic Center.' Islamic centers are to become 'the 'base' for our rise, the memo says. They are to be the focal point of education, preparation, and the 'supply of our battalions.' Battalions are small cells of fighters. In Muslim Brotherhood ideology it is assumed that, at a certain mature point, when Muslim forces are strong enough, violent jihad will be effective. And Islamists prepare for it. Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, the spiritual guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, has proclaimed that 'dawa,' the stealth form of jihad, is the method by which Islam will 'conquer America' and 'conquer Europe.'

The Saudis have been underwriting the Brotherhood's dawa efforts for decades.

Muslims want sharia law enforced everywhere. Allah calls for world domination, through force and advocates lying. You need to do a little reading. Look up 'honor killings' in the US. Don't be a fool, read about what is going on in Europe and how Islam is taking over.

Sharia law is why our current method of dealing with the OIC is pointless. Until the masses are willing to leave Islam, then whether the majority of the people in these nations agree or disagree with these literalists is immaterial; because they know the Koran inside out and agree with its edicts, they win every open debate about the shape and direction of their societies. And being that they are willing to commit unspeakable acts of violence in its name, they command power far in excess of their actual numbers. The sooner our academic/political elites come to understand and accept that, the sooner we can start dealing with the greater Muslim world in a coherent way.

What's the big deal, its the religion of peace after all....

Hope and Change.... Tragic.

The president's strategy is absolutely clear about the threat we face. Our enemy is not terrorism because terrorism is but a tactic. Our enemy is not terror because terror is a state of mind and, as Americans, we refuse to live in fear. Nor do we describe our enemy as jihadists or Islamists because jihad is holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam meaning to purify oneself or one's community."
-- May 26, 2010, John Brennan, Assistant to the President and
Deputy National Security Adviser for Homeland Security

Critics regard reinvented Islamists such as Ibrahim as opportunists promising moderation while remaining privately committed to dangerous, ultraconservative ideals

Sums up my opinion nicely. - Tom
