Sun n' Fun has been hit by strong storms and probable tornado damaging or destroying many aircraft. Several injuries and some structural damage to buildings. The Zenith line took a direct hit. This is on the news and several websites.
Pilot error.
>>>I am simply pointing out the misuse of the Breaking News sidebar and the misleading headline.
All the while being an arse about it.
Did you consider just hitting the ‘abuse’ link and making a polite case to the mods? Or is ‘polite’ not in your repertoire?
Yes, that was the sad part.
The abuse button is for sissies. I prefer direct confrontation.
Where's YOUR birth certificate?
I was VERY relieved when I clicked on the thread to see that this was just a fluke weather incident and not some kind of aerial maneuver gone bad.
What would the difference be? I have had one plane damaged in a crash and another damaged in a wind storm. In both cases, it cost me.
I had a double die penny stolen from my coin collection when I was a kid. It was one of a kind and probably worth a LOT of money. It probably could have paid for my college education. The insurance company paid me a penny for it.
So you like being an arse. You are quote good at it.
Poor Sebastien & crew! He’s a nice guy, and right-minded, to boot. I’m usually at SNF - we couldn’t make it this year because of an office move.
This was not a minor weather event. There were several people injured at the event including some major injuries. Tornadoes in the area and straight line winds up to 90 mph.
And last year, the heavy rains turned Oshkosh into Sloshkosh (they even printed those T-shirts up, as well as H2Oshkosh).
I know that the builders of the experimental aircraft will be able to get back to repairing their aircraft... anyone hear about any antiques, classics or warbirds?
If the collection had been dropped in the water it would have still been gone.
I think your major objective is to be confrontational regardless of the subject. FreeRepublic has really changed over the years.
I wonder if any of those guys got hurt and how this will affect Zenith. The 601 with the folding wings hurt them enough. Also I would suspect that the crowd that does the assembly in Eastman, GA was there. They sure can’t take any bad hits.
Unquote
I never claimed it was a Major Coin Show Disaster.
Don't post ridiculous headlines and you won't get the unwanted attention. For instance, "Powerful storm hits airshow; many planes damaged" would have worked a lot better.
Pinellas got hit hard too - both airports, cars, homes.
Tampa Bay airports, not just Pinellas.
I’m sorry, by Florida law, we are only allowed 3.5 “disasters” in the state every six months. This was not one of them.
OH THE HUMANITY!
Oh wait...
