“...the mother of one of the men tells Fox News.”
Fox is really reaching the bottom of the barrel for its sources of ‘expert’ testimony. Their Saudi owners must be pushing them hard to keep up the nuclear fearmongering.
Excluding falls, heart attacks and electrical shocks (i.e. looking only at the radiological hazard), the reality is that the workers will, at most, increase their risk of getting cancer by 2% sometime in their life.
Wow, 2% huh, and who knew we had such radiation poisoning experts right here on the FR? Amazing .... /s
Wow. Where’d you get the info on their exposure levels?
What does the dosimeter data say? I’d think even Japan would be more cautious than that, and there would be no lack of people looking for temporary jobs there, that could be sent in once for an hour then sent on their way with a good chunk of hazard pay.
I also saw this story on Japanese TV and a couple of other sources. Guess you'll have to find something else for Media Matters for their OutFox project.
Radiation monitors not given to each worker
Perhaps you would like to purchase a radiation monitor for these workers who will apparently only experience the 2 % cancer risk increase ?
This foolish comment isn’t going to end well for you.
