D’Escoto is a hardcore communist and always has been. Call him “Jesuit Gone Red”. Supposed the torture and execution of freedomfighters who opposed the Ortega dicatorship.

Hope he dies a horrible death at the hands of the families of his victims.

Typo correction: “Supported the torture and execution of freedomfighters...”

I remember D’Escoto very well. He was the Jesuit traitor who was sent to the U.S. to propagandize on behalf of the Marxist Sandinista National Liberation Front. Radical American clergy such as Rev. (Rep.) Robert Drinan and others helped around the U.S.

I wrote a piece in the Washington Jewish Week back in 1978 about the ties between the PLO/PFLP and the Sandinistas, as well as the Sandinistas and Cuba. The mainstream media played it down, esp. the Wash. Post with communist sympathizer Karen DeYoung (read her coverups of the three Sandinista marxist factions), leftist-coward Jack Anderson (who hated the Somoza family), and some of the NY Times writers , Alan Riding and later Ray Bonner.

Only the Council for Inter-American Security covered the Sandinistas from both inside Nicaragua as well as from the outside. They published several good books on the “Sandinista Lobby” and its supporters - “The Revolution Lobby” is one.

Sen. Tom Harkin, John Kerry, and Chris Dodd ran interference for the reds here in Congress and down in Nicaragua. Kerry also had ties to the marxist, nut-run Christic Institute and its bunch of communists and far-left supporters. Even hired old Hanoi-line pseudo-scholar Gary Porter to do a hatchet job on the freedom-fighters. Wasted a million dollars on false charges that the “contras” were smuggling drugs to the U.S.

Turns out it was the communists in Colombia, aided by the Sandinistas and Cuba, who were doing it. Kerry conveniently left this out of his report.
