i remember the postings by ExTexan and Hydro??? something
warning of the housing bubble. they posted for so long with nothing happening except rising prices that i finally got disinterested. then, it hit. the two posting warnings saw the signs, but did not know what was really happening. Credit Default Swaps? That was behind the curtain....and the rest is history.
it took longer to arrive and was much worse than they warned.
QE2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ..... its coming. inflation that is....but when?
oh, its here now! some say that. but when, really? this has been manageable, so far. disruptive. but not an existential problem.
oh, and, the world? politics, war. the big one. when?
really, information overload is the enemy. its all beginning to seem so normal. yes the world is ending.
what else is new?
certainly not hysteria.
the conundrum is that what we fear, what we theorize, will appear. the problem is when?
and its not now....
my first posting on FR (can’t look it up without losing this but guessing 6 years ago) was about IDF purchasing F-16’s with enhanced operating range now encompassing Iran. I thought the attack on Iran was imminent.
it still is.
i think what i am saying is that i know its coming, just do not know when.
I had to take a break after I asked you to post what you wrote to me, so I didn’t see that you had done it or I would have thanked you sooner.
It is such a dark and sad and true poetry. I am not sure if you meant it as poetry, but it is that. It reads like a lament born of fatalism and an almost hopeless acceptance that there is nothing more we can do except wait.
I have said this to a friend. We have waited too long and they have already won. All we can do now is accept it and prepare for a future unlike anything WE have known. The world hasn’t ended, but the age has. NOW we have to begin to find our way into the coming age because it will be war.
