U.S. drops Sept. 11, 2001 indictment in New York

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A federal judge in New York granted the 0bama administration’s request to dismiss a previously secret indictment against five accused plotters in the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Justice Department said on Monday.

The department said it moved to drop the indictment after the administration decided the defendants, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-professed mastermind of the attacks, would be tried instead by a military commission at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

The other defendants were Walid bin Attash, Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed al Hawsawi, the department said.

secret indictment? What the hell does that even mean? ksm would have already been tried and convicted if not for this crap.
