Whether you can "get your head around this" or not, there are 2 perfectly good reasons Obama doesn't release his birth certificate. The first is he is under no legal obligation to. No court has demanded it. But the primary reason is, the people demanding his BC are his political enemy, many of whom want his political scalp. If I were in his position, I would be disinclined to voluntarily provide evidence to my political opponents whose publicly stated purpose is my removal from office.
I would say the only reason not to release your birth certificate is because you either don’t have one or you are hiding something. Plus its not just the birth certificate, its a whole portfolio of documents that are usually public knwoledge about most presidents such as college transcripts, thesis, medical records etc. Obama on his first day in office issued an executive order sealing all of his personal information and has spent over $1 million dollars defending himself in court agains’t making any of this stuff public. Its bizarre to say the least and it lends itself to further doubts about his eligibility to be President. What is the guy doing with a Connecticut Social Security number? He never lived in Connecticut.
The whole world knows that Bush was a C student and that McCain was in the bottom 25% of his class at Annapolis Naval Academy. He also had to show his birth certificate to prove his eligibility to run for president in 2008. We know the birth place of every president in history except for Barack Obama.

Which is understandable, and naturally leads to the assumption that said birth certificate would be just such evidence as would lead to his removal from office.

Obama WASTED tax dollars and government resources to send TAX PAID attorneys around the nation to prevent the release of common documents. Obama MISUSED Department of Justice talent at a time when plots were being laid to BLOW UP Times Square, BOMB a Pittsburgh marathon, EXPLODE a plane out of the sky over Detroit, and **KILL** our soldiers on their bases and recruitment centers!
