Disney characters never have two living parents of any gender.
I don't know if the idea was that the adult figure would be more interesting if dating (Mickey & Minnie) rather than tied down in a marriage, or it was prudery (so that the younger characters' very existence would not imply that the older characters had engaged in any sexual activity).
Bingo. As far as I’m concerned, Disney has been anti-family ever since Walt died. The overwhelming subtext has been ‘follow your inner-whatever’ and happiness is whatever and wherever that inner-dealy takes you. So far, it’s been centered on straight ‘love’ but the stories have been veering into territory about the nature of relationships and social structure. Most definitely brainwashing.
